There's no such thing as a pick that they don't need.... Ask Toronto. I agree with the quantity over quality argument, but let's face it... They have TALENT coming out their butts, but they have no heart and grit. The selling point with Bourque is he has the POTENTIAL to be an impact player that will score you 25. Bournival can bring crash and bang, and be good defensively... Andrighetto brings more scoring touch if they want to go that way. Moen brings leadership, and loads of heart, which they desperately need. Edmonton is not likely to find an impact player with that heart in a one to one trade, because no team is going to want to give up that one player. - Darksyde
isn't that some things that Montreal should keep?
You paint a rather rosy picture of those players. Which is innacurate, imo.
Bouruqe flots for 75% of the season, Moen is benched more often than not, Andrighetto is small and soft, Bournival can skate in straight lines and that's about it. |

Bourque + potential to be an impact player w/ 25G = worst sale pitch ever. |

I'm not going to make fun of it, I'm terrible at trade proposals too. But I'd think EDM are looking for something like Gallagher and a high pick/prospect or something like that. Habs won't get him for stuff they can do without. |

Exactly.
I think the discussion starts around Beaulieu or Tinordi. |

I highly doubt it, they need a proven top 4 D, not another D prospect they already have Marincin, Musil and Nurse. They also need a great two-way center.
Plekanec and Emelin are more likely IMO.

Then I'd go with Beaulieu... We lack the big rugged D, Tinordi meets that need for us. |

That would be something to see. Love Pleks but I think Eberle is doing what he does now. I think that trading Eberle has a negative impact on the Oilers. I don't see it happening. I could see MTL targeting a guy like Purcell or Perron and maybe kicking the tires on Yakupov |

Bryan Fogerty was considered one of the most talented players coming up.....talent doesn't = success
Read between the lines: "I have the tools to be a great player, but I'm missing something that John Tavares has"........I'd call it size and drive. - mykokes
I will read between the lines. Then I will read the actual words again. I end up in the same place. |

I like Perron but right now, Gallagher and Parenteau are playing great hockey so i don't see how we could fit in another RW in our top 6. Anyway, i don't see the Habs targeting Eberle. Marc Staal maybe? Guy is in the last year of his contract. |

The last few years, I've lost some respect for them, with their shenanigans. I think Eric in MTL would be something to see. What a killer line he'd make with Pacioretty. I'm not sold on Marc being much more than a 3-4 but NYR would want quite a bit for him, I'd think. Likely more than he's worth, just to see him leave for Carolina. |

Problem is the US has to protect some folks that decided to settle over there. - pete26
I'd like to know more about what this post is referring to. It's the phrase "folks that decided to settle over there" that really has me curious. |

Pretty much, Marc is a 2nd pairing guy, which this team needs. But yeah, Sather will probably ask way more than he is worth. |

I don't disagree with this right now but I do think that need will change in the next year or two. |

I don't think that's true. I mean - yes, of course they protect those places for that reason. But they pride themselves on protecting any democratic state, or ones that are not, but apparently want to be. |

I know it's by Bert Raymond so it loses alot of credibilty but :

Apparantly it's not his fault, he has to ajust to Eller and Sekac's who play an East-West game while he's north-south.
He doesn't understand why he's labelled has a streaky player. |
