I knew this was coming. I get it, that Burke has only really brought in grinders and thugs, so I get that it is not all Hartley. But Bob is known to play his most truculent players often. - moondawg
Well, I'm sure you'll understand that we use our own judgement on what he's doing in Calgary first, and any other heresay second. Last year our most truculent players played fourth line minutes. I don't expect that to change.
And you finished 2 points behind a team, that bombed the season, was horrid and every one player on that team played well below their standard play. So I guess that is a win for Calgary?
I was quoting a post that was criticizing Hartley with a great deal of conviction, but without any actual reasoning. The fact that Hartley took arguably the worst roster in the league and had them overachieving to the extent that they did (relative to teams that had comparably a much better team) is definitely something to his credit. That, in my opinion, is a win for Calgary.
It's like Calgary shot a 93 with a 30 handicap and Vancouver shot a 90 with a handicap of 6. |

Are you planning on competing or rebuilding a bit? I've got some young players like Shinkaruk, Terevainen and Scott Laughton…thinking about Mason. |

Pretty excited for the season to start. Start October with an easy'ish' six points but it gets pretty tough from there on in.

I think VAN starts slow with the new coach. First 3 games should be easy but I wouldn't count out going like 1-1-1 as the team gets comfortable |

You are correct, 1-1-1 is quite possible. I hope this team is 500 by the end of the month, anything else is gravy. |

I'm more inclined to competing now. This is a free fantasy hockey league. To tank a whole season is a total waste of time IMO. |

This new hockey central pre-game basically seems like they really want to copy ESPN/FOX/CBS with their pre-game NFL coverage. |

That's probably what I'd guess. Either 2-1 or 1-1-1 seems like a safe bet. This team will need to get it's points outside of the games against Cali teams because they'll dominate us as usual. |

Might dominate, but not as badly as they did last year, I tend to think we'll at least go .500 against the Cali teams this year, which in my book is a win.

Someone trade me.
I'll move a young d-man like Bogosian/Voynov/Gelinas/Larsson plus a pick for a winger or goalie. |
