I love how he comes out for 2 seconds and then retreats right after. - Nucker101
Me too.
Seriously, I don't mind Hartley hiding behind his players. He's the coach, physical exertion and altercation isn't part of his job. He was good at getting his players to do it, though. |

Nucker, what's this changing the min goalie appearances to 3 at the 11.5th hour? Ok ok, no lynchings will be had - I know this process has probably put you off hockey pools for the rest of your life. But, as touched on, I know I would have drafted differently in the expansion draft we just had
Ok, I know, have some more whine
Edit: this is not a compacted season like last year, so you're going to have teams not even playing in one week. Thus, people like myself will not be able to compete properly - is that the intent? jus' sayin' is all |

Speaking of regional rivalries, we definitely need to get Seattle a team, and then do a Stadium series at Century Link... in January, can you imagine how awesome that would be? |

I get the feeling that Benning is a great Chess player. The moves he made to get Markstrom to the minors without being claimed was definitely thinking 3 moves ahead.
I have a feeling that the reason Sestito was kept instead of Jensen was to keep an eye out on the waiver wire. If something good comes he can grab that player and drop Sestito. I don't think this team needs a meat head like Sestito and especially if we are going to play the way WD wants to play there will be no need to fight. We will be very similar to Detroit in terms of play. Puck possession, Speed and trasition,. No dump and chase.
It is quite refreshing to see a GM out some thought before making moves. |

It's ok, I just added Talbot from the waiver wire. I have Quick and Jones and Scrivens, but as pointed out, this year is not a compacted season (last year teams had even 4 games during some weeks) so we are not going to be seeing teams have more than 2 or 3 games per week maximum. In fact, I noticed there are teams which are not going to have any games during a week whatsoever. So there is the dilemma. However, no worries, I know you are doing your best and you can't satisfy everyone. If it was voted on last year than no problem.
Thanks for looking into it, though. |

But but.... Sestito scored 4 goals last year! he is pretty much pure offense (and offence) |

#Canucks did get younger and deeper but still are the 29th oldest team in the league with an average age of 28.8 years. Devils are eldest. - AlexF
Holy (frank). No wonder they removed that "Change is coming" slogan from their advertisements. Shame on this organization. |

First of all, Hartley is a coach, not a GM. GMs put together the team, coaches coach that team. You are saying Hartley is a bad coach because of the players he has available.
Second of all, Hartley took basically the same lineup last year and finished only two spots behind the Sedins and Kesler all-star show.
Third of all, Hartley's done a fantastic job with all of our young guys, and has guys buying in more than most teams in the league. That can only be a good thing for the development of our youth.
But other than that, solid post. - TheBold
I knew this was coming. I get it, that Burke has only really brought in grinders and thugs, so I get that it is not all Hartley. But Bob is known to play his most truculent players often.
And you finished 2 points behind a team, that bombed the season, was horrid and every one player on that team played well below their standard play. So I guess that is a win for Calgary?

considering how well they did last year for that roster, no t really sure where you got that perspective. - numbear
Somewhat based on how well he developed the youth in Atlanta.
Not to mention players don't like playing for him. How many players wanted out of the Thrashers organization, once they developed.
Sorry if you disagree, but I think Hartley is a sh!tty coach. |

Standing behind one of his tough guys.
Hartley being Hartley. He got exactly what he wanted out of that game, cause Torts is a hot head, that thinks with his emotions and not his brain.
I am fairly certain WD will change that mentality. |

Does anyone remember when Crawford did the puppeteer gesture to Hartley when Hartley coached the avalanche? |
