Colborn as the flames 2C?
And I though we had it bad, the guy makes Gaunce look like a future superstar. - Whiskey-Tango
And Monahan as their 1C makes the Oilers look in great shape. |

Agreed, though I would take Monahan over any of Oils centers, RHN and Draisatl included. |

I think Hall will have a break out year, and as long as RNH doesn't have a break it year, they will be much improved in the standings. |

Taylor Hall is already a top 10 offensive forward, I don't exactly think he needs to break out given that he put up 80 points last year. I was pissed off that he didn't make the Olympic team tbh, over the likes of (frank)ing Rick Nash.
Edit: Had him on both my fantasy teams last year and he was excellent, he is not the problem |

Interesting read on Willie here.
http://www.macleans.ca/so...-he-make-the-canucks-one/
in particular "In 10 years of coaching, he’s never missed the playoffs. His combined CHL and AHL head-coaching record is a remarkable 424-222-67-15."
and some interesting insight on his coaching methods. After becoming head coach of the Medicine Hat Tigers who had missed the playoffs for 5 straight years.
"Recognizing he couldn’t reach all 32 players, he chose a leader within each clique, forming a leadership core that met regularly for coffee, breakfast and in his room on the road. The outliers may not have bought into Desjardins’s vision, but they were going to follow their buddies, who had." |

I wouldn't be surprised at all to see backlund and stajan with more ice time than colborne |

He will be the only other player, besides Stamkos, to score 50 goals / 100 points this year. I'd say that's a breakout year. |

That's really cool. I hope we see some behind the scenes stuff this year

Oh woa, I gotcha now. Every time he touches the puck when we play Edmonton I can't help but start to feel nervous, guy has insane speed/talent |

I disagree he'll get 100. Not many do these days and he's not Crosby. |

Hall 50 goals and a 100 points? Sorry man, I'm not buying it. I think the Oil will be better and Hall might get 80 points again this year but I expect a more balanced attack with them picking up some solid complimentary pieces. |

Agreed, Hall makes Nash look like an upside down tortoise with a heroin problem. He's definitely top 10 and I would not doubt his ceiling being in the 100's if the team can get a proper @##$@# system in place.

No doubt, we can only hope they suck again and he demands a trade. |

It depends on who you are talking about. A guy that is in the 50-60 point range getting to 80 is a 'breakout year'. A guy who has already scored 80 points has already broken out and it's just a matter of determining his ceiling. |

I already sent a shuttle bus. It's starting in Columbus, stopping in Winnipeg and Edmonton, and heading straight to Roger's Arena |

So, saw a highlight of Leafs first round pick on TSN. No sound on, just out of the corner of my eye, and I'm thinking, why the heck is Hayley Wickenheiser wearing a Leafs jersey?

 - 1970vintage
Well played, sir, well played.

I wondered that myself, Bezz! but he @#$@# did it, nonetheless
Incidentally I loved your and booner's chicken analogy - otherwise known as the 'Fowl Effect", Chicken Addendum, Bawk Protocol, and Poultry Element. Well done, sir, well done indeed. |

Go easy on HW, a great Canadian gal... I think she has some charm, some may call her handsome in a feminine sort of way and her little sister there is a little cutie. |

I do wonder how so many people are expecting these breakout numbers for certain players with NHL scoring trending down towards the pre-lockout "clutch and grab" era.

Good call. Shes is a Canadian ambassador. What she's done for female hockey and hockey in general is simply amazing, and I can only say that I respect her a lot. So what if she's not the 'Mary-Ann' of hockey, she's a phenomenal athlete and also seems to be a gracious and thoughtful person.
And yes, her sister is a cutie - how is her hockey, though?

I have a couple nieces up in Edmonton and they had a picture taken with her, for them, she is an inspiration.
I respect her pushing to be the best, playing with men and producing good results while all along being a class act. (I usually don't say so many good things without throwing in a jab... biting my tongue) |
