I kinda doubt anyone would seriously take Eichel over McDavid. Don't get me wrong, Eichel is an amazing prospect who would easily go #1 in a lot of other drafts. But in my opinion this whole McEichel 1/2 bullpoop is more of a media construction to increase hype over the draft by blowing up the whole Canada vs. U.S. rivalry. But yeah, that's just my thoughts.

Despite Mac T's endorsement, people with eyes seen that Klefbom had a poor camp. He was average to bad in his last two games. Klefbom has not as of yet succeeded in the AHL or the NHL... Judging from what I seen and most everyone seen he is not ready for regular NHL duty.

Klefbom could really use at least one full year developing in the AHL to improve his game. Marincin's been there done that and has the post cards to prove it.

As per this blog you have to blatantly ignore all the statistics, and your eyes, to take Klefbom over Marincin.

As I stated I don't think Klefbom will get much time with the Oil anyways so it's kind of a moot point.

it's pretty obvious they both have good practice work ethic, now you're just reaching and trying to be devils advocate. What you're saying in here is pretty opposite of what you've said in the past about playing the best players, and not having too many rookies in the lineup.

I'm just throwing it out there. We had it with Dubnyk when the drunk went down. Dubnyk just assumed the spot was his and didn't practice as hard. Coaching staff had to bench him to show him you can never quit practicing.

As for your last part, I'm all about playing the best but I really don't know who the best is right now. I don't watch pre-season hockey as that's where Mike Comrie becomes a hero and Prv becomes Forsberg.

I see a lot of the term rookies, but to me Marincin isn't exactly out of that group either so that's probably why I don't care as much.

I'm going back to Struds on this again. Doesn't really matter who gets the start here, but as long as when the guy faulters we make the swap. Ideally we are making the swap a lot this year and keeps the guys fighting.

No one excited to see a fired up Marincin when he comes back? That's what you want. Guys that are fired up.

My problem is that mangements knock on Marincin was that he started off slow in pre season, but what did the Oilers ask him to do over the summer, put on weight, and what did he do? Put on weight. when you're only trying to put on muscle, you're not focused as much on cardio and agility, so it was expected that with that kind of weight gain there would be and adjustment period for him. Well after 2 games he looked like he had adjusted and got back into the rythem of things.

IMO, Marincin did everything asked of him and has done more in his career to justify an opening night spot on the roster this year, Klefbom, IMO, hasn't

I just don't understand demoting MM over Klefbom. Neither require waivers. One is more experienced and looked better in the pre season. Draft pedigree?

I don't see us picking up anyone especially a d-man. About the only thing I could see is us moving a d-man for another forward probably a center. But even then it would be slim.

It could be, as it creates views, which is what they want to dominate. I see more value in Eichel than McDavid, but thats right now. We have a year to see these guys before the draft hits.
