Whoa! I almost got a ban for saying something similar on the flamerz thread today! Just an FYI!

Minor discrepancy, but in the five games I found info on, Marincin was only credited with 10 SOG. So unless he got 7 in that game where the Oilers got routed by the Blackhawks (highly unlikely considering the Hawks' dominance), I think those 17 shots are a tad misconstrued.

I didn't bother reading through more than the first two pages on account of how stupid it was getting, but did anyone consider that maybe they're using this as an opportunity for Marty to get his offensive swagger back? He's always had the mind for the offensive game (see his junior years), but was asked to simplify his game a lot last season.

Maybe the Oilers wanted to see a more dynamic quality out of their back end with new additions of Fayne and Nikitin (notably un-dynamic) along with Petry and Ference covering the "safe players" and they saw allowing Marty the chance to dominate early on (even if it's against AHLers) might re-ignite his offensive flare while conversely, it may be a learning experience for Klefbom in toning down his game a tad.

Have to tread lightly when stepping outside of the Oilers threads as it appears the rest of the threads on this site are populated by insecure, overly sensitive lil female doges.
