Well Florida does have two NHL sized arena's, and a larger population base in those two centers than the entire province of Suckskatchewan.....Edmonton has enough trouble attracting players, let's be honest here, a team in Saskatchewan would make Edmonton seem an attractive place to play.

The kid has no where to go but up. No rush though, and I agree with the coach giving spots to those he feels earned it in camp regarding the rookies. The staff saw more of their on and off ice effort than any of us did. Including insiders like Clouts......and Matt "I'M IN LOVE WITH CORSI" Henderson.

I hate that rat faced Bettman as bad as any other maple syrup, aboot loving Canadian, but teams in Florida make absolutely more sense than a team anywhere in Sask. Could you imagine the league selling that horsesh!t Pilsner at NHL games????

I just don't see how EDM can preach a hot start and doing well out the gate, but start 2 rookie Dmen and demote their best LHD. Doesn't matter if he's back after they realize their mistake, it's concerning for the people that run the team to think like this.

I just used them as a reference. How about instead of bailing out an empty arena in Glendale they just admit they've made a mistake and give the team to a proper city. Even the northern states are alright but for the love of the sport move those teams that hemorrhage money constantly.

You may want to look up what Betteman has done for the Canadian markets, if it wasn't for him we would have maybe three teams left in Canada. When the Canadian dollar was at 64 cent to the American dollar he was the one who got the government to start helping the Canadian teams through tax breaks and various other government incentives.

They did that. Winnipeg was the benefactor. If they didn't give teams a chance, the Oilers would have been gone back in the late 90's.

As well as Calgary. Hell at one point Montreal was only profiting a couple million a year.

corsi is certainly a usefull tool and it's taught me a few things. more open to it than I used to be.

but its almost like a pre emptive defence for the analytic lovers to call the non believers stupid for not whole heartedly believing in it.

as I said; usefull tool, but so FAR from being infallible. absolutely does not tell the whole story. it has a ton of drawbacks. imo, many times small moments that cant be qualified and quick adjustments in game can be far more important and indicative to the final results of a game or a teams success.

Maybe he should have sacked up when he shut the league down 3 times in the last 20 years and made sure that players don't make 10 million dollars a season to play a game that I PAY money to play every year. Bettmans job is to ensure the league is running smoothly, if we keep having lockouts but salaries keep going up does that not sound like grounds for someone to lose their job?

The way I see it he is either a puppet and my anger is misplaced, or they hired him to do a job which he seems unwilling to do. Instead of shelling out this money to players they should drop ticket prices and vending prices at games.
