Guy used to literally score whenever he wanted when he played for the colts. I think he is 6-2 or 6-3 so he would be a big number one center. - blizzzard
He's not a number one center yet. I think you overvalue him right now, he is a second line center, slowly getting better on his feet (use to be like Clarkson) hes going to be good but I think the Jets would prefer to have Merrill, re-unite him with Trouba. I don't see him fitting the Devils system either he really isn't that great in his own zone. |

I said would be not is and I don't think he is that bad of a skater he looked pretty good last year and seems to be getting better at a fast rate. Larsson is an odd fellow not sure how to gauge his value. To me it still should be high. A 21 year old number 4 overall pick who just hasnt got the proper chances in nj. I dont think he has done anything for gms to think he cant be what he was projected to be but at the same time it depends on what they are looking at. If they don't do their research and just look at him and see the amounts of times he has been scratched and dont take into consideration it was more to do with contracts and the number of defense we had then it has with his level of play. Hell he did nothing at all to get sent down last year he just got injured and then was assigned to albany on a conditioning stint and never came back up because lou wouldnt move volchenkov and then looked like an idiot buy buying him out. |

They are talking about how its likely Panik gets shipped out in the lightning thread. He would be a good pick up depending on the price. I wouldnt offer any of the young D for him as they have to do something and have to many quality forwards but maybe a third and scarlette or a second round pick by itself |

So would I. But like I said it wouldnt be a player I offered any of the big 4 defense men for or Santini and I certainly wouldnt give up a first. |

I'd love Panik. He has a good shot and has shown flashes of being able to create his own chances, however inconsistent it was.
I don't see why they'd be in a rush to ship him out unless they feel last season was a fluke. They have plenty of young talent, but absolutely no need to press any of them into action.
Sure, they may want to give some of the kids a go, but Panik is a known commodity compared to the others. If he's traded it would probably be a package seal for a young defender & to ditch an unfavorable contract. NJ has a plethora of young D prospects. It would be worth pursuing in TB actually fielded calls.
The prospects in NJ, while we all are interested in their possible futures, are all still prospects & unknowns. Panik is at least a known commodity compared to them.
And as badly as NJ is starving for young FWs it would be a good move for both clubs.
TB had a couple young interesting defensemen, but when Barberio, Ohlund, and I think Salo still on the roster you have room for improvement. Even Sustr is very raw. He's big as (frank), but he's got a long way to go. |

Ohluind's been hurt the past 3 seasons, just collecting his paycheck at this point. But agree with this rest of the post. |

Is Salo officially retired or a UFA? For some reason I thought he was still on their roster like Ohlund. I knew Ohlund hadn't played in a couple seasons but I think he's still officially on the roster, though probably on LTIR like Pronger.
Wouldn't cry if Gelinas or Larsson went the other way. They could use a PMD like Gelinas, plenty of defensively solid players to make up for his defensive lapses. |

Apparently Lou's maintaining that if Harrold and Bernier clear waivers, its not guaranteed they'll go to Albany. I dont know what the (frank) that means. |

No it means if no other teams want them they have no other choice than to give them their spot back on the Devils of course. |
