By waiving Bernier, the Devils have created a spot on their 23-man roster for a forward, but will it be Gomez, Carter or Tootoo? Will the Devils have another player with a one-way contract traded or waived to open up one more spot on the roster?

Also, congratulations to Severson for making the NHL roster! The Devils must feel confident that he will be one of their top 6 defensemen. By waiving Harrold, the Devils have decided to keep Salvador, Larsson, Greene, Zidlicky, Merrill, Gelinas and Severson. Now the question is, unless there is a trade in the works, who will be the team's 7th defenseman? My guess is that it will be Gelinas.

Do not be surprised if the final, final 23-man roster is set by this Thursday, prior to the game with the Flyers. Lou may take the extra time to work on a trade or waiver another player, even after tomorrow's 5:00 p.m. deadline.

Same. I do find it really hard to believe that Carter would pay his own insurance and go all the way till now with out signing with another team because he over valued himself. This is Lou we are talking about he is a cheap Bastard and I bet the offer he supposedly made and was turned down was one that was putrid. Has no problem throwing out big bucks to the big name free agents if you will be he loves to low ball everyone else.
