I don't understand why everyone just assumed that if severson where to make it he would be the seventh guy. That makes no sense to anyone something is going to happen or they really weren't happy with Bryce's showing and our seventh defense man will be el capitano

Kids got skills, and he was great with the puck, but I just don't get it. Yea, Corsi and such, but he made too many mistakes positionally for me to say he earned a spot.

Wow very interesting. I don't think this spells doom for Larsson as much as everyone else is saying, he played huge minutes this whole preseason and I think DeBoer is starting to have real confidence in him. I'm fine with 3 of Severson, Larsson, Gelinas, Merrill playing every night, and hopefully they'll "let Salvador rest" every once in awhile too. RIP Pete Jr.

Believe in him in what way? I still think that he'll be a solid defensman, but at this point it looks like Severson and Merrill will be better, Gelinas will be elite at what he does, and I have faith in Santini being really good as well. Just seems like Larsson is becoming more and more expandable.

Smart thing would be for them to stick around until after this deadline stuff and then I think Lou could sign one or both to a two-wy and try to put them thru waivers to Albany once teams are full. Not sure on the rules though...

That is pretty much what I was going to say. I really like Larsson, but if he ends up not being the best choice, it is what it is.

I like Mustangs, they look pretty cool and are pretty fast, but when they share the road with a Lamborghini, they suddenly seem pretty average. Not saying we have any defensive Lambos but you get my point.

I dunno I believe it's totally a confidence thing. When he actually takes some chances and doesn't always do the "safe" play no matter what he has been great, I really think if he can get to a point where he's not always in fear of getting benched and can just play he can develop into a really great defensman. I know it seems like he's been around forever but he's 21 years old...

I listened to the radio feed for the 2nd isles game and the play-by-play noted several turnovers and bad plays by Severson (despite his earning the 2nd star. I also noticed several mistakes he made in the last game. It just doesn't make sense. Either they keep Severson on as the 7th damn, which would be idiotic, or he replaces someone in the lineup. Greene isn't going anywhere, the coach is the one with the hardon for Merrill, Sal isn't being benched, and I can't imagine zidlicky sitting either. That leaves Larsson and Gelinas, and Gelinas has "The Truth".

Greene (LHS) - Zid (RHS)
Merrill (LHS) - Larsson (RHS)
Gelinas (LHS) - Severson (RHS)
