Being better than the Habs may not be setting the bar too high... but it's something. - Feeling Glucky?

Been saying it all summer - Feeling Glucky?
It's pretty tough to stop 3 pairs of Dmen, each with an offensively inclined player, as Grand Rapids found out on Friday.
But can we keep the puck out of our own net? That's the question that will be answered this year |

I think that's the best partner for him on the Leafs. - Scabeh
Me too. Should allow Dion a little more freedom offensively, but Robidas will sure have his work cut out for him in the defensive zone once he sees how flat footed Dion can get at times. Hope he can teach Dion a few things. |

Likely won't know until the lineups are put out there, but I'd assume so. Don't think Dion has looked as good as he did on Friday since becoming a Leaf, and I give all the credit to Robidas!
Hail Robidas
Seriously though, he's a good partner for Phaneuf. - TheThrill
Phaneuf playing on his natural side will help big time imo |

Beyond that he needs to be able to have his minutes cut back. That always seems to create a much better Dion. |

It remains to be seen whether that signing will end up a boon or a burden. However, if they duplicate Friday's performance more nights than not, then that bodes well.
2 more years with Robidas after this one. I almost keep forgetting, with all the "one-and-dones" we have on the roster. |

Fair. But the contract kind of suggested it, so I'll give 'em a mulligan |

So he needs a good vet to play with and his minutes cut back.

Dion needs to keep his shot low, and on the net. A nice wrist shot would be better than taking out one of your own guys with his seein-eye clapper.. |

It should be! Percy-Phaneuf as #2. Franson can (frank) right off.
One of my buddies is one of those fringe fans that wants to get into the Leafs but just knows that they (frank) us over every year.
I put on the game on Friday, he saw Rielly and Gardiner connect for a beauty play that I believe was tipped by JVR (could be off, I was kinda hammed) and he immediately was like "Welp, I'm sold"
poor guy doesn't know what he's gotten into |

I don't think it will be a burden. Clarkson's contract is a burden. I think Robidas will do all right. He and Polak should help the younger guys and give them some time to develop. The Leafs won't have to rely on the younger guys playing top pairing minutes. |

2nd and 3rd depending on who were playing would be my guess. I myself wouldn't have those 2 together as a constant pair. Hoping it all works out |
