So you want me to compare years when two players had their highest productivity ever against two others that had their career lows?

It is like pulling teeth around here to get fans to admit that this roster is thin.
Burrows got 0 goals against bottom end teams and depleted lineups , Daniel got one and now we formulate this into 20 and 30 goal seasons against real NHL teams. - VANTEL
I hate to do this but your right our 2nd and 3rd line are thin for goal scoring. We have an abundance of 3\4 line players "possible" shut down guys. Right now I don't see certain players having break out seasons. Goals win hockey games. I was all for youth movement I don't think we will see much this year. I am a positive guy and truly believe this team can do well and make the playoffs. I will stick by that. I am also a realist we are thin. We would be less so if some young talent had some real ice time at NHL speed. |

I could have included an extra year from the Sedins if you liked, as they had career numbers in years previous, but the point of going back further for Malkin/Ovi was to show that players have off years and bounce back. Just because the Sedins are in their 30's doesn't mean that it is absolutely a decline, or that the decline was a long time coming. If you look at the small dip in PPG for Daniel and Henrik between 11/12 and 12/13 it is significantly smaller than the drops experienced by Ovi and Malkin. 13/14 looks a lot more anomalous to the two previous years than the crummy years by Malkin and Ovi, where they had two consecutive years of significantly reduced production |

I think Higgins, Vey, Vrbata may be a tad high, with Kassian and Hansen being a bit low. I think Kassian will push for 20 this year |

Sedins have peaked and are on the other side of the slope now. I doubt they will ever come back and get 100 pts again like OV and Malkin did |

No kidding. If Burrows has 10 he sucks ,if he has 20 he is great . So your prediction is somewhere between sucking and great. |

I'm not saying they will even be PPG but not all hills have straight slopes. I could look into examples of players who put up big numbers relative to their career highs well into their 30's if you like but I have about 5 hours of oral histories to analyze so I would rather not
Edit: I will just throw out my personal favourite, Joe Sakic put up 100 points two years before he retired, after having 4 consecutive seasons where he was under 90 points |

That would have put them in the top 30 for scoring last year. Nothing wrong with 65 points |

Yeah and a broken foot and a broken jaw.
Edit: all 5 goals came in March last year |

Burrows I think 12 give or take 2 goals
Daniel 16 , give or take 2 goals.
That in my estimate means they will have goal production one line less than what they are currently slotted at. |

I didn't say they would get that, I said if they did it would be a successful year. I see them close to 55 which is still an Improvement over last year. |

Aren't all scoring projections basically pulled out of your ass? I'm not sure saying ten to twenty is any more of a guesstimate then saying fifteen. |
