yea... just backread and saw that we were talking about Nylander.

I thought it was about Kozun.

Lou is wrong.

- Feeling Glucky?

Oh no, Kozun should make the team for sure.

Outside of Holland, that 2nd line looks like garbage.

He'll make the team, probably on the 4th line.

Don't know how long he'll last in the NHL though.

Meh, I'm telling it like it is, I'm not going to sugar coat my assessment because he was a high pick, just about every prospect can skate fast, that is not a big deal anymore, he has not impressed all, plain and simple. I don't care if it is not a popular opinion, you can tell right away when a player is special, he isn't.
- LeafMan

And yet its the guys in the dressing room who says he has above average tools...much the same way they called Kadri mitts, magic, and the dream.

He's shown some signs of being above average.
He has great skating ability.

For now he should play in the AHL....but Im looking forward to seeing more from him as he improves down the road.

- Fakepartofme

He's 18... obviously he needs time to grow.

I can't believe people are writing him off already.

No, I don't see what people hope and want to see in him, the fact is, he has not been very good at all, he has not shown anything that will make him a "special" player. Stop over valuing his play.
- LeafMan

Stop under valuing his play.
He's had some very good periods and some periods where he wasnt noticeable.
But he's had a decent first camp.

I don't think Lou is writing him off...well, maybe a couple statements of his seem to lean that way, I think Lou is just taking a hard line stance that the kid hasn't shown him anything as an NHLer. Which is fair. It's a really fine line between a Robbie Schremp/Rico Fata and a Nazem Kadri.

I'd prefer there over Europe needs to get used to a more physical game and put on some muscle.

JVR-Santorelli-Nylander will be #2. Lupul-kadri-Leivo line 1.

Poor Holland. Goes from Komarov and Nylander to Ashton and Frattin on his wings

I think he's gonna struggle up there.

So I guess that means he should fit right in.

He's only 18....lets keep some perpective.

This is the Leafs man! He's gotta be Crosby or he's a bust.

(frank) sakes, Rielly got sent back his first camp too and nobody thinks of him as "average". Most can recognize that he was 18 goddamn years old.

Agreed. One year in Sweden then, barring an unreal camp next year, one year in the AHL. He comes in as a 20 year old.
