but everybody was okay with paying that piece of crap that got traded for Polak 3 mill
- the_eye

Gunnersson was slightly better. Better defensively. 3 mil wasn't my first choice.

Lupul has had lots of chances tonight, hasn't capitalized.

Did millen just say kadris camp has been rather quiet?

Lupul could lose his spot in the off season if our wingers keep developing well.

He would have gottEn $4m+ from arbitrator, given his role, the last few years.

Meh. He got us a decent 4 - 6 defense first kind of guy. I'm okay with the deal.

Oh for Sure..
Too many lefties and he was the one to go.

Liking Polaks offensive instincts so far too... Wasn't expecting that

Me either. I'm so far surprised by the d looking alright. I like the look of the whole team skating really well.

Surprised. Didn't like the first game (looked lost, 3 minors) but hasn't been too bad since.

I kind of agree, although completely different players.

I think a healthy Gunnar would've been welcome these last couple of years -- probably would've meant the difference between staying or not -- but they needed to shake things up, find a better partner for Dion and moving a guy from #2 to #5/6 would've been hard to justify and for him to get over as a player.

Speed kills. Draws penalties, creates chances, negates chances against. If you get back on the puck quick and move it quick it negates the need to battle. So far tonight the leafs are winning races and using their speed to move the puck, not a lot of battles to be won/lost in that instance.

I give Nonis credit for shaking up the D. Moved Gunnar and tried to move Franson for Gorges.

Holland and Frattin have been kind of invisible, no? Who would've thought that of the young guys challenging, Kozun and Leivo would be way ahead of both of those guys...

If they can just do it every game. I think Carlyle was trying to stifle it a bit too much.
