To me, they went with Tokarski, who some say might become a #1 (or Tokarski himself thinks it's the case) over Budaj because Budaj doesn't have the nerves to play in the playoffs.

But in the regular season, having a guy like Tokarski, who wants to be a #1, sitting on the bench, could become a distraction. Kind of like the whole Halak/Price scenario all over again. Or Reimer/Bernier in Toronto last season.

Bottom line is, they should trade Tokarski for whatever they can get, and find a good backup with playoff experience and dump Budaj.

Scott Clemmensen comes to mind.

That was before Price was crowned as the #1 goalie.

Having Tokarski back up Price, would not be a distraction, imo.

If he can chip the odd win in here and there, that would drive up his value, then trade him.

Any back up to a healthy Price at this point, would be like the Maytag repair man..

I'm just saying, I don't think Tokarski would enjoy being sitting on the bench for 65-70 games. And it would eventually lead to him wanting to be traded.

In other news, Anthony Duclair is leaving quite an impression in New York.

Pretty cool.

I'm sure if you asked him, he'd rather be in MTL as a back up than in Hamilton.

Besides there's not much MB can do with him, because if he exposes him to waivers, he'll lose him for nothing, imo.

De la Rose really gave Toews a run for his money in the face-off circle! Tinordi needs to stick as well as Beaulieu, I suspect somethings up and some body's are moving this week.
- spitfire

I agree.

But De La Rose is starting in Hamilton.

I'm still pissed McCarron got injured, he was very effective on the forecheck, hope it doesn't slow his progression to much
