Man when did all the criticism of Sutter start? The guy is 25 and has been playing with some very below average NHL players but still finds a way to produce.
$3.3 million cap for the 2 more years plus better linemates. Looks like a great situation to me.

- WVPensFan22

That's what I've been thinking. The guy showed last playoffs that when he has decent linemates, he can produce. Sutter and the 3rd line was the most consistent line last season during the playoffs. I certainly wouldn't mind if sutter was packaged for a nice top 6 winger, but the fact is if you take him out of the lineup the pens lose a big piece of their depth and sre a worse team

No thanks on Semin at 7mil for the next 4 years.

Skinner, Lindholm, and E. Staal are the only things I would want out of Carolina and none of that is going to happen.

I agree on the Spaling-Geno-Hornqvist line, but I wouldn't mind seeing it for a month to see what happens. In the end, that line's success is based on how Malkin and Hornqvist click.

I hate Sutter more than any Penguin of all time, but I wouldn't even do this. Semin is a turd.

No thanks on E. Staal. A nice player, but $8.25M/yr for another C just isn't what Pitt. needs. I'd take Justin Faulk, though.

Should sundqviust get the first 9 games? I say yes.. see what he can do... if kap keeps I'm proving do you do the same for him?

Comeau can be cut anytime.. don't see his value and plz don't say he's a pk'er

I would have no issue giving both Sunquvits and Kapanen 9gms each, if they earn it, but I don't see either as being a full-time NHL'er this season. The most Kapanen has ever played before is 47gms/yr & at age 18 I just don't see how his body holds up over an NHL 82 gm season plus Playoffs. As for Sunquvist, admittidely he is much closer, but I still would worry about how he would be looking in March and April.

Despres with Samuelsson today. Bortuzzo hurt. Hopefully this doesn't mean Scuds stays. The guy is just terrible.

I'm pretty sure they can get as many games as they want. Sundqvist is with the team no matter if it's in Pitt or wbs, and Kapanen can be the same, unless they choose to send him back to Europe

maybe... but it wasnt anyone elses knee... just Beau "IR" Bennetts. He was looking sharp but I'm not sure he ever become a NHL regular at this point. Damn it.

Geez, Sutter gets no respect around here.

He's been Pittsburgh's best forward through 3 preseason games.

Let's trade him at the deadline!

Sutter is going nowhere.

I was touting Sundqvist two summers ago. Just because he's showing good things it does not mean that he's a.) ready or b.) capable of replacing Sutter.

What's going to happen is that Sundqvist will likely replace Goc as the 4th line center next year.

Maybe he broke a mirror underneath a ladder with a black cat walking by while he was picking up a penny tails up.... and and old gypsy women was cursing him too!

maybe someone else on the team used The Numbers and now the whole team has bad luck

Ugh...Of all the players to get injured, this is one of the few the Pens could least afford to lose...I really hope it isn't as bad as some of the quick reports that are coming out.

No i feel HCMJ knows those guys can b replaced with younger guys... but I know he won't do poop with dupes bc everyone thinks he is awesome and perfect for sid. Apparently dupes is so good he won't be able to help the 3rd line and can only help sid...

I really don't wish injury on any player. Just tired of this whole kuni sid dupes line being the best ever and they should never touch it...

Freak accident. Hit a rut and his knee buckled. That could happen to anyone. Damn shame he was playing really well too.

I wonder, if the injury is long term does GMJR feel the need to make a move early? I would think so. If just to secure some depth and rid ourselves of an extra D.

I think the only thing any of us can ask for is to give Kapanen a shot. Otherwise, especially with Beau out, we literally have no other viable option, imo.
