Yeeeeees.

I'll take a guy that works everynight and fights for his 10-15 goals over a underachiever like Bourque with bad work ethics. It's not just his individual production, it's the team philosophy you try to establish.

It's ok to suck and be lazy for 60 games and get 80% of your production in two weeks.

- Fredobface

we're all in agreement on that. only difference is, some of us are saying "look, Bouruqe is here, he's borderline unmovable, he was the team's best winger in the spring, let's see what he does over the first 2 months." but to sit there after his playoff performance and say "get this guy out of there at all costs" is foolish.

Here's the wildcard: P.A. Parenteau looks great on a line with David Desharnais and Max Pacioretty. Not good, great. This too should have a dramatic effect on 5-on-5 scoring.

Well I'm sold. #powerhouse.

Make him play with Plekanec with 14-15 minutes a game he'll score 15 and they will shut down the top lines of other teams.
- Fredobface

I would like my top 9 to all be able to score 20 goals. Of course they won't all succeed, but I want all 9 of them to be able, to have the potential to do it.
Bournival doesn't fit the profile, sorry.

to be honest, he may have been a good pickup.

But....not sure I'd put a lot of stock into how GREAT he's looked in practice.

Playing with Pleks will have him scoring less than anywhere else. They'll be spending 80% of their time shutting down other lines, and if last year is any indication it's going to be about a 50 or more scoring chances to goal ratio from him.

He scored 5 goals in 12 games on his stint on third line with Gionta and Plekanec.

Over 82 games, that's 34.

That being said he will never score 34. But you can't say he can't score 20 when he scored 5 in 12 at 21 years old in his first steps in the NHL.

i got scolded for mentioning that it's possible that Montreal doesn't fight for the best record in the conference.

do you remember when Matt D'Agostini first came into the NHL and scored like 5 goals in his first 6 games?

Do you remember when Sekac came into the NHL and got a top 6 job ?

Bournival should and will be a regular in the lineup.

His job is not to score goals. He can chip in here and there and that's fine. You need his speed and checking skills.
Where will he play ? Don't know.

That's a 4th liner. But there are 3 better options for that line than Bournival. I'm not saying Bournival shouldn't/couldn't be an NHL regular. There just isn't a spot whee he fits in on this team right now if it's healthy.

Just like Moen or Prust finally but younger. Good, but not good enough.
