Carolina Hurricanes centre Jordan Staal suffered a broken bone in his right leg sustained in a preseason game at Buffalo on Tuesday night. Staal was hurt on what appeared to be an innocent play with 6:35 left in the third period. He was skating up the right boards inside the Sabres zone when he was checked into the boards by defenceman Josh Gorges. Staal immediately fell to the ice and lay on his side for a few seconds before play was stopped.
Yes yes...old news.
But since when is Gorges a force to be reckoned with in the punishing hits department?

There's way more Whalers gear than Canes stuff out here, but I've still seen it. But I mean, I never even had the chance to see the Whale play live. Got to watch maybe one or two games a year on tv.
It's just different in that my loyalty has nothing to do with WHERE they are actually playing. |

There's way more Whalers gear than Canes stuff out here, but I've still seen it. But I mean, I never even had the chance to see the Whale play live. Got to watch maybe one or two games a year on tv.
It's just different in that my loyalty has nothing to do with WHERE they are actually playing.
