Jake Dowell? Joe Finley? They sound like ball players from 1924.

They haven't come out and said it but it seems like they're doing a "The World's team" thing. I say this because they are making a big deal about where their players are from.

I like it. No longer are they just Canada's team. Now they truly are Canada's international ambassadors of goodwill due to the cultural diversity on their squad?

#26 Sekac, #25 De la Rose and #58 Andrighetto are fighting for the 3rd line RW spot. Sekac has a foot through the door.

#38 Scherbak(2014), #34 McCarron(2013) are 1st rounders.

#36 is Nygren has a heavy shot, probably the 2nd best slapper behind Subban in the Habs org.

#60 Thomas is the one we got in the trade for Kristo, son of Steve Thomas. Good shot, good skater, but small and inconsistent in his effort.

#75 Hudon is a first year Pro, was a 5th round pick in 2012. Very intelligent player, but also often injured.

#97 Sorkin was an NCAA FA Habs signed out of UNH. He's a project.

#96 Bowman is on a tryout, he was in the Canes org the past 4 or 5 years.

Finley, Dowell and MacDonald are veterans for Hamilton.

Sekac off to a good start with that goal.
I think that period should shut up anyone questioning whether or not Scherbak was ready.

With that size, he could dominate most fights, but he doesn't. He's this year's Tarnasky/Stortini , there to take care of the animals in the AHL.

It's only one period. I think the team will want to have a look at him in most pre-season games.

That turnover wouldn't have happened in junior. He was very careful the next shift after the goal and dumped the puck instead of rushing it in. Let's see if he's a quick learner.
