if that proves to be a case, they've made a massive mistake signing him in the first place. Eller went through a 60-game stretch that was brutal. was he useless for most of last year? Not at all. He was very up and very down, unfortunately. He showed incredible potential at times, and incredible fragility at others.

Time to see what he can do with an established role, better linemates--as he's guaranteed to have. That's all I'm saying. He's not stopping Galchenyuk from anything. A strong showing in preseason for Galchenyuk is only going to apply more pressure on Eller to find that consistency right from the start.

Point in the blog was to suggest this is a healthy thing for them and the team. There was no statement in there saying Eller should stand in Galchenyuk's way.

let's assume Eller plays a solid game, puts together a 40-45 point season and generally justifies the new contract. what do you do with Galchenyuk?

Eric failed to address how the return of Leo Komarov has drastically altered the balance of power in the Eastern Conference.

Put him on the top line (on the wing) instead of Parenteau (who shouldn't play on the top line)

Parenteau's point totals in 2011-12 and 2012-13 would have tops on the Habs. who is he displacing?

Well, it doesn't really annoy me since I'm not the guy paying him.
- Pecafan Fan

The two are mutually exclusive. That you don't pay him has nothing to do with whether you are annoyed by it.

Yeah but the guy scored 20 goals, once.

And he was playing with Tavares.

Now he's playing with DD, who probably passes more than Tavares does.

Pacioretty will score 60 goals playing with him and DD. Just wait and see.

"In the past, I've stated that it was just a gut feeling that brought me here, but I can't handle the lies anymore. The truth is, I came here because it gave me the best chance to make the NHL, and collect a big paycheck. There's also the strip clubs, the influx of high quality smoked meats, and the hero status that Habs players carry around with them, but if I am being honest, it was mostly about the money. It certainly wasn't for the taxes, media pressure and the city's construction woes." claimed Sekac.

Would be nice if DD and Pacioretty start the season at the same time as everyone instead of game 20 like they did last season.

I thought the money was the same for all teams interested in him. So taxes being higher here, this is total BS I would say.

Yep. I think they don't want that either. That's why I said 60 and not 50!
