Yeah, I'm thinking the Bruins will start to slow down a little.

Well, I hope, anyway.

Oh, and they are playing against them tomorrow night.

Very true. The sophomore slump doesn't hit every player either. I'm sure you'll agree that the more you play, the more you know what to expect. Experience is priceless, especially for young players.

yeah but i just think that unless you're talking superstar talents finding their superstar level (Crosby/Malking, Toews/Kane, Kopitar/Doughty) it's never a sure thing that the individual growth will lead to team growth. because every team in the NHL has young guys poised to take that next step. look at Montreal with Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Beaulieu, Eller (that's a reach)... Toronto with Rielly, Gardiner, Kadri...

Iginla is a tough loss, and it remains to be seen who else they lose in the cap crunch. but i still see them cruising to 100-105 points.

Obviously, Tampa got better. it's undeniable. But so did Montreal. The difference is that there are a lot of new faces on Tampa--specifically in prominent roles. Montreal's core hasn't changed really at all. They're a very tight group.

Eager to see how Tampa responds to playoff failings, and with their coach. He's a great coach, and I'm eager to see what he learned from the playoffs too.

I don't believe the Lightning are better than the Canadiens.

a lot of weakness became evident in the playoffs.

While Chara's play has deteriorated a bit...he's still a top 5 D in the league IMHO. The bigger concern is that guys like Lucic and Marchand have forgotten how to play hockey and are more concerned with the Big Bad Bruins mystique.

That falls on the coach.

Last season and the playoffs showed they were pretty much even. Had Bishop been there, it would have been a 7 game series.

That question really comes down to Bishop. The lightening may be the best team in the east if Bishop repeats.

Of course, the East is very weak. Getting 100 pts in the West is much more difficult IMO. But even if Chara is slowing down, they have a good GM, and good young players coming up. They would be a lot more "likable" if they traded Marchand and hide Lucik's pills.

14 points in his last 20 regular season games.

4 points in 4 playoffs games.

He wasn't playing on one leg.
