Nurse would have to really impress to not get sent down. I agree he probably isn't ready just yet, which is ok as we finally have 6 guys who can play in the NHL. Now we just have to hope nurse can become a top pairing guy.

- abware

I agree 100% Bubba.

Just throwing it out there, but if we draft say in the middle 10 of the order next year obviously we take BPA, but what would be the ideal position among our prospect pool or depth chart that needs a driver? LW, RW, C, Rd,LD or goal?

this

ive always been a glass is half empty fan. especially with this club.
and i realize its just preseason against half squads. but those names i mentioned genuinely impressed me

bachman's got an uphill battle that's for sure. aside from the obvious guys in front of him, id bet that mact WANTS it to be brossoit long term. so LB gets the benefit going forward. they'll split time this year, but its prob LB's job next year.

but certainly not to say its impossible. outplay him, take the full time starter role, hope to win a backup spot with the big club in the next season or two, and see what happens..

- hugefemale dog77

I hope Fasth and Scrivens get the job done. Without injuries Bachman wont get much of a shot this year. Unless they have a Dub year which is almost impossible. It is also the Oilers fault for not giving Dub a more solid back up for his 1st year as a starter. Spilled milk. I liked that Hall took some of the blame for last year in an article I read. He wants a faster start this year and worked on his back checking also said he has gained muscle not so much weight which should make him stronger in the corners. He thinks he hasn't hit his peak which is awesome, I know a lot of players say that but I believe Hall. He is going to be in the top 10 for scoring for along time. As Halls game gets rounded out the Oilers will continue to grow. Nuge looked confident also, nice goal. Cant wait to see Ebs play he has a lot to prove this year I think.

doesn't really matter.

as u said bpa.

tenders are soo risky. especially early. almost a wasted pick if its too high.
but if there's a bluechipper out there, sure would be nice to have another top goalie prospect in the system.

well said

cant really see bachman getting any serious time with the big club other than backing up due to an injury.

and totally agreed on halls comments. dubs was just horrible, but its a lot like the hate on the defence.
weak in net and defence without a doubt, but our forwards (especially the top 6) got off way too easy from a lot of the posts ive read. they gave tending and D almost no support, which did nothing but exacerbate an already bleak situation

Tough call, I was thinking center, but hopefully we have our 1&2 for the next 8+ years.
3 & 4 C should be available through FA or trades. Still good for trade and injury options, but the same could be said for any other position. BPA seems like the best bet.

Yea Nurse showed some stretches where you could tell the kid has the skills for another level. He seems really lanky and probably needs to put on alot more muscle to take on NHL sized players
It's too bad he can't be sent to the AHL cause I felt he made some really high risk plays that might be bad habits from playing against lessor players in juniors that just aint gonna work in the big leagues

And that's the beauty of the ahl. Let him gain offensive creativity in the ohl and then learn to control it in the minors.

Tough for a guy like Nurse who might be ready for the show next season, and would really benefit from stepping up to the AHL this year.

Say he weighted 200 last year, he still weighs 200 this year but can lift 20 or 30 more in the gym. Its what he said. You want to know what is dumb having to explain everything said. You know what I meant. Also people who make spelling mistakes is so annoying to point out. This is a site to talk hockey not spelling or grammar. If that is why you come to this site I think you re on the wrong site. Also Rutts you never talk hockey why bother coming here? Hugefemale dog he can lift more but didn't gain weight. How would you explain it? He gained muscle mass I guess

It would be explained by training his nervous system to lift more weight, in that it is the nervous system that is highly involved in power movements. A person does not have to add a tremendous amount of muscle, to increase their 1 rep max. You said he gained muscle, which means he gained weight. Can you explain to me how literacy, and reading and writing, somehow have no importance or significance just because it is a hockey website? I sincerely hope you do not have kids that you are passing this message on to.

Thanks for the advice. Any suggestions? You appear to be one that lives quite the glorious existence. Can you offer any advice for one who is obviously struggling. Can you give me the same sort of talk, you like to give to iggysbff about getting a GF?

For starters don't come to a site were you never talk about the main topic of the site. Other than that I am sure you re awesome. Basically don't come here and HB would be a better place for it. Kind a like the site would gain muscle but not weight with you not around.
