Jeselnik is hilarious. Wanted to make sure it was the same guy. I feel terrible laughing sometimes but hey....

Players union would never agree to that. They already have so many non-guarantees in their contracts. They won't cave to that
- PhillySportsGuy

They might. Right now, they're losing money for off-field stuff based on the whims of Godell. If it's up to the teams, they might not want to lose a player they've invested their time into. It's a coin flip; do you give up short-term suspensions imposed by the league and allow the individual owners to decide how grievous your act was?

So basically, offensive = funny? Because he's not funny in his delivery or wit.

our roster depth is at an all time low, seriously if g goes down for any length of time were in serious trouble.

im really surprised that either snider, hextall and homlgren could say they like this roster.

Now now. when you get into those kinds of people- Bo Burnham is another one- some people find it funny and recognize it as terrible, and some people find it offensive and therefore not funny.

I can see where both groups of people come from there. If he makes you upset, then I don't care

It's like music. Theres enough for everyone with all tastes. Just roll with you think is funny!

I guess. All I know is that I'd have no problem if Ray Rice knocked Jesilnik out.

Right now, if we lose Coburn, Mason, or Giroux for any extended period of time, we could be competing for MacDavid.

That's been true since 2011. Except for Boston and Pittsburgh, every team in the East basically has 1 guy they're screwed without. Imagine NYR is Lundqvist went out. NYI without Tavares (maybe with him, even). Columbus without Johansen (which may happen for a bit). Detroit without Datsyuk. Montreal without Price. Tampa Bay without Stamkos (now that MSL is gone). We're not the only ones.

Honestly, some people really need it. Jon Lovitz could go on a killing spree, and I'd still at least have a small spot of love for him for punching Andy Richard.

I guess to play devils advocate if most teams lost their starting goaltender, top defenseman, or best player for an extended period of time they would be in trouble. Granted some teams are more capable of handling injuries to key players than others.

I think the roster needs improving, but I don't think it's a barren wasteland. There is some good talent. The Flyers need Schenn, and Couturier to continue to develop.

I think many of those teams could stay afloat if they lost those guys for a month or two. I feel like the flyers would be in real trouble if G had to miss two months

i guess i got tired of watching the re-run each night last season and had hopes of some moves this summer, but nothing happened and after reading metzlers musing today the reality of this flimsy roster has punched me in the forehead.

I think the NFL has no choice but to revisit lengthening Rice's suspension.

The video is damning and irrefutable. He straight up assaulted her. There is no amount of PR that can overcome that. They need to ban Rice indefinitely.

What I think ends up happening here, is public pressure gets ramped up, and the Ravens just end up releasing Rice. I can't imagine any team picking him up either. He will end up being black balled from the NFL.

your right the roster has been thin for quality depth for a few years now, it always seemed in the past if someone went down there were people to plug in

lindros era we had leclair, recchi, brindy and so on

primuex era we had ronick and later foppa

richards era we had briere, carter, gagne, etc

im just not use to us being so thin and low on talent all over the ice, front and back.

I wouldnt even be upset if we didnt make the playoffs to be honest. Unloading the back end is what I am more worried about than anything.

I really don't think it will happen. NFL is stubborn as hell. Dan Snyder is running commercials with Native Americans saying 'Redskins' isn't offensive. He's under a ton of pressure to change the name and he refuses.
