I'd move Streit with Coburn and McD with Grossmann. Rational is that on both lines you'll have size (Coby & Gross), Speed (Coby & McD) and Scoring (McD & Streit) But it might behoove us to keep Streit & Gross together as they played well last year. (But keep McD & Streit away from each other, I think they are a horrible pairing)

The second line is the trouble spot for Philly. Last year Coots, Read & (fill in the blank) were a far better scoring line than our second scoring options. Simmonds did most of his damage on the PP but Schenn & Lecavilier were disappointing. The problem is Simmonds, Schenn & Vinnie are all big slower forwards who can score but nobody can get them the puck, or move the puck with any kind of speed. If the Flyers are going to have any kind of run, G & Jake are going to need another scoring line to back them up. Move Schenn to the top spot and figure out which of Raffl, Umberger, Bellamere or Akeson works best but they all have flaws. Akeson isn't fast enough, Umberger does not hold the puck that well, Raffl is getting better but is far from being an offensive force and Bellamere is still an unknown. Regardless it revovles around getting Vinnie to play better and getting him a setup man in Training camp.

He could just go to the AHL.

I would give up a pick for Keumper. Not sure how high.

Isn't the point that he is only signing if he plays in the NHL?

I think it's getting a one way deal, so he makes as much cash regardless of whether he's in the NHL or AHL

Like Oliver Lauridsen. Is he going to be by far the Phantoms highest paid player?

Sure looks like it. Think everyone else is on a two way deal or makes less cash

Seems like Gordon has the highest AHL salary of the guys on two-way deals - $300K.

I wonder what it would take to get Keumper from Minnesota. He's understandably not keen to play on a two-way deal this year.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 6m
With Niklas Backstrom and Josh Harding under contract, MIN wants Kuemper on two-way contract. Kuemper, after strong playoff, wants one-way.

Bob McKenzie ‏@TSNBobMcKenzie 22s
Kuemper is looking at his KHL options (with NHL out clause, of course).

have to think Harding is not a viable option due to his health situation, and backstrom has hardly been reliable. if he's after money, i can see why he'd want to jump to russia...but i think his best option is to stay here. honestly, i'm a little surprised humongous big didn't get an offer...even a 1 year deal. he was solid for them.

if he's looking for a 1 way deal, it's not going to be here, this year with Mason/Emery. it's not like the flyers have a spare million dollars lying around to pay a 3rd string goalie.

He's shot. He buried the Flyers for 2 decades, I can't root for that guy.

- PLindbergh31

he's certainly played a lot of hockey over the last 20 years. part of me really wants the flyers to sign him. i don't know why.

Rosehill-Stortini-Rinaldo would be a fun line in LHV.

The only issue I have is that it would create an instant goalie controversy. I like our tandem and the peace and tranquility it provides. All is in its proper place.

The point about wanting a 1 way deal is about money. And getting paid the same whether he is in the NHL or AHL.

Poor Derek Mathers... how will he get enough icetime to develop his full range of skills with all that competition for 4L wing down there?

Take a number fights. Maybe Mathers could handle his pugilistic duties down in Reading

He still has some waiver eligibility left. The money wouldn't be a problem.

agreed. it's morbid fantasy, i think. kind of a like the dream i had early this morning about water skiing in some type of container jumping through a giant penne noodle with a girl i had a crush on in the 8th grade. we never landed. just kept going. then a whole bunch of other nonsensical poop happened after that with other people. man....i need help.
