was it 3M who said that no one really needs winter tires?
- DoubleDown

In Matt's defence, if you're a good enough driver, you shouldn't really need them.

I never had winter tires either and never had a problem... Ontario's and Alberta's winters.

You're right. Winter tires are not necessary. Keep your summer ones.

Not saying they are not necessary at all. Kind of saying some people can drive a hell of a lot better and can adjust to the conditions alot better that most of the clueless twits who get their licence out of a Cracker-Jack box.

Listen... If I ever had problems driving in winter, I'd buy winter tires. I never have, ergo, I never have.

I had winter tires before they passed the law here. I don't consider myself a bad driver.

it's frightening that you write this steve... it's not about adjusting to conditions and being a good driver. it's about the limitations of your car in certain conditions. you ever see people get stuck in the snow? it's not because they're bad drivers. it's because their RWD Civic has 7 year old all seasons on and they couldn't grip a wet female genitalia.

Some people drive with some worn out tires, even in the summer. No threads at all remaining, I even saw a guy with some patches where there isn't even rubber anymore.

either way, there's a reason the law exists here. we get a ton of snow and we don't all drive around in F150s and Ford Tundras

Hey everyone,

Some of you might think I'm trolling and it's fine.

For those of you who don't think I'm trolling, Thank you for nitpicking and criticizing every single thing I said and will say on Hockeybuzz. I know I've said a lot of 'poop' on here. I'm a guy who tries to learn from everything I do in life, whatever it is.

It took me a while to realize it, probably because I'm not always looking for messages(we'll call it youth Ignorance), but I have FINALLY understood that my confidence in my knowledge makes me look arrogant for a lot of people. As all of you, I'm sure, have noticed, when I THINK I know the truth about something, I will argue to death about it. It takes one a lot of patience to convince me of the contrary of 'My' truth. That is, unless I know and consider the person arguing with me as an expert in the subject of argument. (Example, this week when Fred commented on Concrete vs Wood vs Steel)

With time, I've learned to know most of you and your domain of expertises and I hope that I've looked less of an annoying arrogant person. The EE blog is a place where we love to bring past errors in the face of people and I wouldn't love it any other way. But I hope that, once I meet you all(because I'd love to), that arrogant label will fade, if not forever, just a bit

Let the TLDR/ "ZZZzzzZZZ" festival, begin!

Jesus (frank). Sorry guys. Little out of proportion here.

I have never driven with bald tires. When I need new ones, I just get all-season. Never felt a reason to have 2 sets.
