Brodeur can gtfo for the following reasons:
- never had anything good to say about the idea of playing in Montreal until he was 42 and sucked and on the verge of being pushed into retirement
- would just give the media more opportunity to create controversies that don't exist - DoubleDown
You are right and I agree 100%, I just hate still having Budaj as the #2. Good in the room, yadda yadda, but he's not a NHL caliber goalie IMO. I'm not over-evaluating Tokarski like a lot of fans seem to do but he's our best option as a reliable #2 right now. |

What about having arguably one of the best goaltender ever give tips to Price? Some journalists might spin the hometown boy thingy if Price has a bad stretch, but Price is able to handle the pressure now IMO. Brodeur knows how to win, and a plenty at that. He's a goaltender that has been healthy for the bulk of his career, he knows how to stay in form and keep energy for the long NHL seasons. Price could learn from one of the best ever.
I understand that we had him in the face all this time playing for a conference rival, but personally I can't blame the guy for being loyal. This game needs more of that IMO. |

i think letting Tokarski go for nothing will be a big mistake. it leaves Montreal with no insurance if Price goes down. which, for anyone keeping score, has happened 4 times in the last 3 seasons. - DoubleDown
Wait... if we deal Budaj and waive(and looooose) Toka and then sign Brodeur... it doesn't leave us with no insurance Policies if Price goes down.

then hire him as a consultant or something. my point is that Price has ended the last 3 years on IR, and he also missed about a month last year in the middle of the season. this team needs a backup goalie who can play more than they need a cheerleader or a guy who is "good in the room". |

well the insurance policy in that case is Brodeur, the guy who pretty much single handedly cost NJ a playoff spot last year. |

Price has NOTHING to learn from Brodeur about winning. What the hell could he say to Price? Hey Curtis you know the goal you allowed in the first period? I tell you man, you would have TOTALLY WON that game if you stopped it.
Bad eating and training habits, comes to training camp out of shape year after year... Yeah, I don't want him. My hate for Budaj made me brainfart for a second and I regret already.

And Brodeur doesn't fit that criteria to you?
Personally, I feel more confident in the goaltender who has done it all and seen it all in the NHL than a guy who was red hot for 5 playoff games. Tokarski is and was a great story, but his body can't hold to play most games if Price goes down. Brodeur might not either you'll say. But I'd take my chances with the Hall of Famer over the AHLer.
As for Tokarski, he has to go in waivers if he doesn't stay in the NHL. Trading him is better than losing him for nothing. I'm fine with him as a backup, but I would prefer Brodeur much more.

so why not just give Ken Dryden a call he's already in there.
guy's 42, he's washed up, he's done and he'd become a huge distraction.
Im not an expert though. |

at this stage? no. if we need someone to step in for somewhere between 10-20 games if Price goes down, i would take DT over MB. |
