I have never driven with bald tires. When I need new ones, I just get all-season. Never felt a reason to have 2 sets.

Another issue. When it comes to doing brakes if they are disc... One should do it themselves if they are mechanically inclined. They are easy and cheap as (frank) whereas a garage will literally charge you 5x as much.
