Peter Chiarelli just spoke with Boston media; said Steve Eminger will be signed to AHL deal and Ville Leino gets a training-camp tryout.

1. TB will lead the Atlantic and the Eastern Conference and advance to the 2nd Rd and give Boston a run for their money.
2. Pittsburgh leads the Metro but loses in first rd due to lack of depth up front. More changes on the horizon in the off season.
3. Boston makes the Cup Final. Leino makes quite the difference on the 4th line.
4. 5 Metro teams make playoffs:
Pittsburgh, NYR, CBJ, Philly, Washington.
5. Yes Washington makes playoffs and takes out Pittsburgh in Rd 1.
Trotz will set them up for the future. Team D will pay off.
6. Stamkos takes Art Ross on a line with Drouin who takes the Calder.
7. Rinne takes the Vezina and Weber takes the Norris.
8. 5 Central teams make the playoffs:
Chicago, STL, Dallas, Minnesota and Nashville.
9. Kopitar takes the Selke.
10. Brodeur misses half of the season and doesn't perform when he returns due to having missed so much time.
11. Edmonton Oilers surprise the League and push SJ and Arizona for the 3rd spot in the Pacific.
12. Flames and Canucks finish in the bottom of the West.
13. McDavid goes to Carolina. E Staal gets traded.
14. Eichel goes to Buffalo.
15. Winnipeg trades 'Buff' for less than market value.
16. Winnipeg makes noise but poor goaltending and distractions (aka Evander Kane) prevent them from competing in the Central.
17. Montreal misses the playoffs because they can't defend as well. Gorges and Gallant will be missed.
18. Florida improves slightly but not quite enough.
19. The Islanders will challenge for a playoff spot but will miss out and concede a top ten pick to Buffalo.
20. Boston up their roster in the off season. Too many UFAs and limited cap space. Replaces vets from within.
21. Ditto for Pittsburgh.
22. Marchand gets traded in the off season. Reilly Smith takes over for him.
23. Boychuk signs with the Oilers for $6 m per on a 5 year deal.
24. Carlyle gets canned mid season.
25. McLellan Ditto.

First off let's remember these are whacky predictions, so no need to burn me at the stake, at least for that purpose...

1) there won't be a lockout this year
2) Gary Bettman will get booed anytime he's in public... Except for Philadelphia...
3) Dustin Tokarsky and Ryan Miller will do better than anticipated
4) NHL '15 will suck
5) The Penguins will make it to the playoffs and blow it, again...
6) The Stars will either need to get a real goalie or have to rely solely on offense/defense because Lehtonen will suck and/or get hurt
7) The Flames' goaltending will be good, but them and the boilers will still suck
8) I have a horrible feeling the Islanders might make it to the playoffs...
9) Detroit will definitely make it, look how many injuries they overcame last season, they had peewee players and still managed
10) The Devils' record will reflect their playing more, and they will make it to the playoffs, but sadly probably lose second round
11) The blackhawks will have a run for their Money, with lots of competition
12) sharks had a hell of a team last year, should've realized they're not a team to scrap and will fall short of playoffs or finish last, due to spirits being down and a few bad moves/lack of good moves in off-season
13) unfortunately Philly will make the playoffs, have a fair series but an early exit
14) rangers will NOT make it back to the finals in a long time
15) I take Anaheim, Colorado and Minnesota to be high in the standings
16) senators will suck
17) Ron Wilson will come back next year to coach
18) something has to be done about too many accursed shootouts... (notice I'm a Devils' fan, but in all fairness, even if I wasn't )
19) hockey still won't get the coverage it deserves, sadly, because Americans would rather watch basketball and tennis... People taking dives, referees getting paid off, athletes way overpaid and... Well a silly sport with a net, where you're not supposed to hit a homerun... Although baseball is a lot more boring than hockey, at least it's really a sport? Or past time
20) The stanley cup finals will be exciting again and not enough people will care... Even though I hate the rangers, last year's cup was exciting

The Oilers have so much young talent, they should be good. I like Craig MacTavish at the helm but I don't understand some of the moves? Goaltending and Hemsky leaving... How long have the Oilers been rebuilding? Since... Messier left? And look how many shootouts the Devils lost last season, we don't have the Brodeur drama now, have some great young talent and Havlat... Every team we played last year couldn't understand why we weren't in better standings, most of our games were close and we''ve been right there mostly over the last two decades

You don't understand the moves we made? Scrivens an Fasth don't address our needs at goal? Who were we supposed to go after, Ryan Miller?

Also, all we did was add size and speed up front and upgrade our defense to keep a couple more pucks out if the net.

And the Oilers deserve a good team, with such good fans... But I think they keep trading key players, lately maybe not very recently... Just makes me think you've got a bit of rebuilding to do, I meant no offense. If the Devils sucked, I'm not afraid to admit it. It is what it is, though I still think we had a great season last year , despite your mocking face at my saying that. Barely missed the playoffs, and we did have a real crap stretch at the end, when we needed it the most, no denying that... Everyone counts out Hiller and Thomas all the sudden pretty much, but one of them might be solid while transitioning to a new goaltender aka Scrivens, who I've seen some good highlights from, still maybe a little untested though as a starter

Edmonton traded Hemsky simply because it was time to move on. He was a great player for stretches but he was far too inconsistent and injuries were an annual concern. Not to mention he had been pushed down the depth chart by Jordan Eberle, David Perron and Soon enough Nail Yakupov.
Sam Gagner struggled as a Center and to be honest, as a smallish forward, became a bit too redundant on the Oilers. Liked him as a player, but Purcell meets the teams needs a little better.
Other than he, who have we traded that had anything to offer? We have so e rebuilding still to do for sure. Were in great shape moving forward but it's going to take time for our defense to develop ( when it does, I think our top 4 of Nurse, Klefbom, Marincin and Schultz will be stellar), and our Center ice position is weak. Leon Draisaitl will be a stud, but we are hopefully moving away from depending on 18 year olds. Our goaltending is a bit of a question mark but that's the way it is with unproven goalies with minimal games under their belts, could end up good or great or terrible, we shall wait and see.
Mac T is a smart man, he has been very active, turning over the roster about 80% since he inherited it, upgrading in every position with quality vets while not trading away much in the way of youth.

I actually like the Devils, but the East is tight. I actually see about 9 or 10 teams competing for the last 4 playoff spots in the East. Unless your Boston, Tampa, Pitts or to a lesser degree the Habs, just making the playoffs will be an acomplishment. There is going to be a lot of disappointed fans in the East this year I think.

Don't forget Fayne on D for you, he's good. Sad the Devils lost him. Guess I'm glad we didn't get Hemsky, no need for more injury ridden players. Craig MacTavish is a smart man, last one to not wear a helmet, which I'm not being sarcastic, I respect that, although anymore I think not a good idea. I think the East and West will be tight, which is good, competition. I dint be disappointed this year, as long as there's no lock out and we don't lose all our games to the flyers or end up last place, or trade any good players In a bad deal. I love hockey, can't wait for this season to start already! I don't really watch any other sports. As far as goalies, you never know with any player yet alone goalie, physically and mentally what could happen, I suppose especially as a goalie. Didn't you know, goalies are crazy? *taps on both posts four times in a row, alternating posts*

Love the Avi and handle by the way. Saw Dio in about 99 or 2000 at a bar in Edmonton (about 1500 peeps were there), and again on the Heaven and Hell tour. It's funny, I kinda like Dio Sabbath better than Ozzy Sabbath, or at least Heaven and Hell is my favorite BS album. About 20 years ago people would laugh at that comment, but now days I have lots of people agree with me. Young people no less, who born in the 90's. Crazy huh?

I saw Dio five times, once with Sabbath (H&H)... So awesome! I was front row for Heaven and Hell, getting squished the whole time but well worth it! I sang all the words and he knows how to acknowledge the crowd. I loved Ozzys albums growing up, but he's an ass... Metalocalypse rules too! Gene Hoglan did the drums for Dethlok lol so awesome... He played drums for Testament and a number of awesome bands, if you didn't know. Probably do though

Haha, yeah wouldn't call my self an expert anymore ( too old to keep up) and my Metal tastes are somewhat specific ( Classic Metal and Thrash) . I guess my favorite current metal bands are Havok and Municipal Waste.
