Dan Petriw: Brace Yourself - Dan Petriw
"The Sound Tigers will eventually move to Long Island and probably be replaced by the Wolfpack"
Why would they be replaced by the wolfpack?
Edit; I see |

my point on that is...the reason I became an islander fan was because of bport and it is a huge kick in the Scrots to have them move to long island and be replaced by their rival. but I see the big picture and have complained about it at all |

I misinterpreted what you meant. I thought you were saying the wolfpack would be replacing the soundtigers at the coli . Also, I hear you. I'd hate to lose the Islanders. It'd kill me. |

The Capitals analogy is exactly the same scenario.....and they are in good shape. |

*snicker*
The team would have moved to Seattle or Quebec or somewhere else if not Brooklyn. I'm glad they're still in the area. Hopefully I can get to a game this year... My commute is a little longer than Dee's. |

The Coliseum is a decrepit dump with a lot of great history. The Brooklyn arena is a sleek, modern building across the street from a railroad terminal.
Professional sports franchises that miss the playoffs 14 out of 19 seasons usually don't get taxpayers to help foot the bill on a new building. The Isles, through dumb luck, have blundered into a state-of-the-art facility.
Anyone complaining is just letting the perfect be the enemy of the good. |

you say nobody will care about an obstructed view seat
except for the people sitting in them. |

Lot harder to see a game in Seattle from long Island. Or, people can buy a seat without obstructed view. |

You know what you're getting before you buy it. It would be like buying a car knowing the brakes are shot and then complaining that the breaks are shot as you pull away

Brooklyn sucks, but its better then nothing... it ends there.

I love tailgating and all that, but train drinking is one of my favorite things to do. It may be odd, but I have a great time. Every time. |

Thats the general consensus thou. If Brooklyn had an arena that was built to house an NHL team.. you would get no complaints from me, but its not.. There have been SO many plans over the years as to a new home for this team, from the Lighthouse, the idea of Pilgrem State, the IceRink / Baseball field Mets/Islanders plans, the Brooklyns layout is the worst of it all.
I am not saying the team in Brooklyn sucks, the team ANYWHERE on Long Island is fine, its friggin awesome.. the arena in Brooklyn is less then perfect, less then ideal, but its better then them not being on the Island. Ill take what we can get.

Kind of the way I feel. We will see. Haven't been there yet for a hockey game so it's hard to have a real opinion but from the way it sounds it comes off as half assed. I had friends who were there last year tell me it's going to be quite an adjustment and a few others say it's not going to work long term. Nobody has told me anything real positive but the bottom line is the team isn't moving out of here and at the end of the day that's all that matters to me.
