The scoreboard shows 12 games played in the Nfl already and nhl standing deep into it as well. I assume theyre last years and they (frank)ed up and put it in. Pretty funny reading it though.

Good to see that they're accumulating assets, but why have we not been able to get a first line centre prospect through the draft? It's bad enough that we don't have one on the team already, but none in the system. We can't compete against the big guys, until we get one.

I don't think it was a lack of cojones on the Stastny front. #1 he isn't worth that money. #2 he is not a legit top center. #3 he would not have come here. #4 salary cap.

What exactly is a full rebuild? I would say Burke fully rebuilt this team. The draft is luck as much as anything else. Its not a foolproof sure fire thing that guarantees success for those who rely on it as a plan.

Toronto has been very successful finding quality blueliners in Sweden, going back to Hall-of-Famer Borje Salming in the 1970’s, but more recently using late round picks to select former Leaf Carl Gunnarsson(7th round, 2007), Petter Granberg(4th round, 2010), Tom Nilsson(4th round, 2011) and Viktor Loov(7th round, 2012).

Those players get taken top of the first round draft. Leafs have three recent picks in top 10: Nylander, Rielly, Kadri.

Also they converted 3 top ten picks into Kessel and JVR via trade. Together with Nylander, Rielly and Kadri that could be a not bad haul from the draft. If Nylander, Rielly and Kadri all justify their draft positions it could be very solid.

1 He is worth that money 2 leafs had the cap space to make that offer He's an incredible play maker and is an ugrade on kadri and bozak 3 leafs didnt fully commit to a rebuild when they traded two first for kessel. As doe him not wanting to come here for 7.5 pretty sure he'd play even in edmonton
