I could believe that tbh.

The discipline system in the NHL sucks, the current OT format is horrible, and the refs are inconsistent. These issues fall under the supervision of Bettman, but he hasn't done nearly enough to improve the game in respect to these aspects.

One thing I do find interesting though is this new green initiative the NHL is taking. I believe its the first of its kind in pro sports.

Summed up nicely (in particular - at least for me - the issue of quality refereeing, as well as the ridiculously inconsistent disciplinary system just underscores some of the mickey-mouse elements of the league, ones that need to be addressed forthwith, if the league wants to really be taken seriously

The really interesting thing, is you indicated there is a new green initiative. This would have been a great opportunity to earn good-will points from fans. However, I confess this is the first time I have even heard about it (is anyone other than Gullzy aware of this initiative?) . And I (and pretty much most of us here) follow hockey closely. so what does that say as concerns the casual fan and their level of involvement? Again, just another organizational blunder in a league that often seems to continue and even progress from a financial point of view, in spite of itself

In retrospect, I actually figured that might be a bit of an overly esoteric nugget of information (I'm also a bit of a film fan, so there are a few references/tidbits of info etc that might be off the mainstream).

Nonetheless, I thought that our esteemed gathering of brilliant hockey minds on Hockey Buzz Vancouver (collective IQ of 142 - but which of course would be much higher if we didn't include two or three "select" posters that bring down the average by 10-15 points - yes, that means myself as well of course .

In any event, back to my original comment, go to Google and search for 'Assualt on Wall Street' (which was, incidentally, shot in Vancouver) - pretty much the last 3/4 of of which consists of people getting shot by high powered assault weapons and people just, well, getting shot

But the most violent one of his I've seen is "Rampage" which is, once again (surprise surprise) people getting shot by high high-powered assault weapons and, umm, people just getting shot. Alas, I digress....check em out at your discretion

I think with the popularity of the Seahawks and 49ers ,Vancouver would be a great option for the NFL. Toronto and MTL would follow.

I think the NFL will consider it as a three team expansion instead of a dying crowd in Buffalo.

Bonino had one less point than Henrik last year. He was the only other player on this current Canuck team in the top 100 in scoring . Curious to see how he does this year with maybe more ice time.
