Good read from a guy who exclusively covers/follows OHL prospects. I was reading his stuff leading up to the draft, always good to get insight from someone who focuses on specific region only without and bias.

I agree with him, give Horvat another year in the OHL to improve offensively. This guy loves Cassels.

Sam Gagner will score 70 points. I'm convinced this Ian, or at least his cousin or something.
- Nucker101

I'm not a Gagner fan. But I do think he can have Bozak type numbers yr in yr out. 70 pts is comical for sure. The guy just had to get away from the team. Every yr they become more of a sink hole.

I'm also interested to see Randorf back....didn't he end up in Europe doing the IIHF tournaments?

- Makita

Yea he always did those.... While with TSN.... Also Paul Romanuk... Another TSN alumni.... He's great at hockey... Just took a sabbatical in Europe

I hate to say this, as I don't want to pile on the Oil, but currently I don't think even the second coming of Gretzky would make a difference. Your comment about Edmonton being a sink-hole is pretty much on the money.

I think Gagner should be able to improve his numbers quite a bit, although we're talking about Tippet and his defensive orientated clubs, so who knows what sort of offensive opportunities might be available.

I can't believe he's only 24 but has already been in the league almost 7 years. I think any player that is subject to being on a consistently losing team for that long would stagnate significantly. I'm fairly certain that a change of scenery will do him wonders

And btw I wasn't banned. Just doing stuff around the new house in my spare time.

And yes losing is Contagious. Just puzzled as to why edm doesn't try to make a big move or 2 to make sure Hall doesn't fall into the same type of funk

I think Oilers upgraded their goals this year finally. Mancirin Nurse and Schultz will get better and will be a good threesome.

Draisiatl will be a huge upgrade over Gagner. I think they made some decent upgrades this year.

New house you say? so, the Hockey-Buzz Canuck Board house-warming festivities - with full open bar, nymphomaniac salacious puck-bunnies will be held _____?? or will it be BYOVFH? (Bring your own Vantel Filipina Hotties)

And yes, agree with respect to the Hall comments. It was evident last year that he is dealing with a lot of frustration. A few more years of this and he will become the next incarnation of Gagner

I don't think its the players as much as the enviorment. They need a few top 6 forwards who are veterans and same as top 4 d men. Guys who are very good players. Not role players

I doubt Hall's play is going to decline(he's already an elite offensive player at the age of 22 and at a great cap hit long-term), but I could see him potentially wanting out if they continue to keep missing the playoffs.

I agree, but I think dealing with the negative psychological affects (of being on a team that seems to have been in a free-fall for some time now) will at least have some influence on a player's development and even their play (i.e. confidence, attitude, perspective, leadership - all of which have a collective effect). I think the saying "the game is played mostly between the ears' has a lot of merit to it. And to that end, the psychological element will always have a bit of effect on physical performance.

I think with Hall, it will just probably mean a change of scenery, as you noted he is already basically an elite player and very unlikely regress. But if you're management I think you have to be aware of (and address asap) a player's continued frustration, lack of confidence in management, and overall satisfaction of playing but which comes more in a winning environment.

Don't listen to him, Thunda. There has been a veritable cornucopia of insightful commentary, comprehensive quality analysis, and interesting/ prognostication the past number of weeks.

Not only that, but since that time we have learned the following (which I feel has been integral) information. So, just off the top of my head (a very brief synopsis, as we could be here all night )

Vantel - was forced to deal with a rather unpleasant pool turd 'extraction' procedure

Carol - Canucks Assistant Vice President in two years tops.

Nucker - unlike previously anticipated, the lad has not burned all of his Kesler paraphernalia and, through extensive therapy, has made decent progress in the Kesler/Anaheim debilitation (i.e. he's at least stepped away from the ledge )

Marwood - his wife finished in the top ten 'Best Wives' competition/pageant

Bieksa - bought a new house in order to ensure plenty of room for the dead bodies in the back yard

Fosco - his picture now officially on milk cartons #freefosco

And in the 'I will need to borrow ummmm ahhh just a few bail-fund bucks, Zogg- I swear she was over 16 category " - VanCity, Steaming, Petro, Bezz, Bloated, Vintage, Yeti (tsking indignantly), Chompsey - awwww f*ck it, just too many to name! you're all @#$#@ heathens (and yah, I know, that includes me

So many Nucks fan get such a hard on for this guy. Good player? yes. But I pride myself on being a gentleman and this guy is far from it. I dont care how good a hockey player he is. I never want to see him in green and blue.

Can we lump Pang in there also or does he get his own category?
- Makita

I'd have to disagree. I golfed a round with Pang once at a charity tournament. I was throughly impressed with how personable and down to earth he was.
