I don't know how you peg Donny as arrogant. A real beauty if you ask me... Hilarious, and knows his poop.
Some of my favourite one liners:
-"Travis Moen 'american standards' it top shelf"...
-referring to the blue jackets as the 'Columbus hummers'
-and of course 🎵"frank cat-a-la-notto, home run"🎵 - noisewater
Just listen to team1040 when a caller disagrees with Don's take. Then you'll see the arrogance. |

Have to say, "Not sorry to see Taylor move on", he looks my age trying to be hip and trendy. He has all these annoying idiosyncrasys that he thought were really cool. (pretending to sign his notes at the end of the broadcast, attempting to inject Taylor humour, which was usually a fail.) Even Gary Valk has to give him a "WTF" glance at least every game broadcast.
When sportspage had Barry MacDonald and Paul Carson and a young Taylor they were a refreshing broadcast, but like all refreshing ideas, their time had come.
Also I'm agreeing with steamer...Andre Boudrias. Now where did I leave that walker. - Makita
God forbid we get more Taylor on the radio now....I absolutely loathe that ass-clown. He is a try hard who can't let go of the past. I love Seinfeld as much as the next but it aint the be all end all of TV.
Argh - now I'm getting angry!!! the guy is a frickin chum guzzler..... |

You kids are way to young, Andre Boudrias should be destroying Morrison and Ronning in this poll. Back to my rocking chair. - A_SteamingLombardi

Yep, too many youngsters saying Andre Who? Clearly this one is no contest for those that remember. Andre was Vancouver's first true "excitement" player. He created havoc and opportunity all over the ice.
Just what we need on the team today! |

I'm in the crowd that finds Taylor an arrogant old man. He was good 20 years ago, now he just gets on his myopic high horse. In Chompsey's words, he's a guzzler. |

Taylor is very good at TV IMO, and rather poor in radio. I think he's gonna be totally out of his element on a full time basis. He ummmms and awwws way too much. Huge fan of the page back in the day.... But I'm excited to see fellow "sports page" guy Randorf in hockey again. |

Your guys thoughts on Gaunce and how he's progressing?
Future 3rd line centre of the Canucks, 20-20 type guy who hits and is solid defensively? |

So what was the Salo chant? I do not recall.. - PetrolSexual
I believe she meant chanting 'Salo, Salo, Salo' etc
Don Taylor has unfortunately turned into a bit of a dinosaur. I think he needs to re-invent himself, as his shtick (which was fun/original back in the day) is getting old.
It's going to be interesting what the ultimate broadcast line-up is going to be. Does anyone know if James Duthie, McKenzie et al will be part of the team? (or will they continue to do the small portion of TSN games) I also like Valk, Murphy, Randorf - anyone I'm missing?:
(PS I also can't stand Cybulski - I was going to say 'hate' but that infers some sort of emotional investment.)
Edit: as Carol pointed out, remember to nurse your 'nads at all times |

We are not sure. In the past we were not allowed to have prospects since the old regime.

Yes he WAS 100 percent original in 85-89, now not so much. I would watch sportsnet after the games primarily for Valks analysis and coaches comments and anything else I may have missed during the game. Once the canucks segment was over so was re-tread, re-said Taylor. |

That's his realistic ceiling if he reaches full potential, likely he develops into a lesser offensive player than a 20-20 guy but that's just my opinion. |

I'm also interested to see Randorf back....didn't he end up in Europe doing the IIHF tournaments? |
