even if he wanted to retire, the flyers wouldnt let him, because the cap space is more valuable than the dollars going out the door. that has everything to do with the over 35 rule, but continue.

i agree with you. he doesnt need 5 mil either.
- flyershockey

Oh course he needs $5 mil. Listen, when you make a lot of money, your expenses are a lot greater. It's all relative. While you might be making $75k a year and have limited disposable income after paying for your house, BMW, 50" TV, etc., Pronger has a similar limited disposable income since the rest of the money goes into maintaining his MANSION, Aston Martin, and 92" TV.

Besides, I'd bet 40% of those earnings you listed Pronger never saw due to tax. An additional 15-20% is taken by the league in escrow, the thing that made Kovalchuk leave the NHL because it took so much of his money.

You look like an idiot right now.

they were both in the primes of their careers when they retired. they had at least 2-3 years to make big money and both walked away. that argument makes no sense.
- flyershockey

Several years after retirement, with repeated refusals to discuss the abruptness of it, Sanders finally admitted that the culture of losing in the Lions' organization was too much to deal with, even though he said that he could still play and that Detroit had made the playoffs in five of his ten seasons. The Lions' went 5-11 in the season before his retirement. He explained that it robbed him of his competitive spirit, and he saw no reason to believe things were going to improve.

Okay. We've listed an incentive of his to not retire. Please list an incentive of his to retire. Why would he officially retire?

anyone thinking they can be in the brain of another human being and their reasoning is the idiot. i'm not saying its because of the over 35 contract situation or the money, i think both play a role. to say the over 35 contract situation doesn't come in to play at all is idiotic.

As was stated earlier, it is in everyone's best interest for Pronger not to retire before his contract expires.

hes made 112 million dollars. i dont think 5 mil is making or breaking him. yes, 5 mil is 5 mil, but its a lot different to him than it is to you or me. sayign the over 35 rule plays no factor in why pronger hasnt retired is a joke.

money isnt the most important thing to everyone in the world. thats an incentive. there are plenty of instances where people have walked away from money. i already listed 2 for you.

i completely agree, but these assclowns are saying the over 35 contract plays no part in his decision not to retire. you cannot know that without getting that quote from pronger himself.

Obviously Pronger doesn't care about money since he made Philly front load his contract so he could get as much money as possible as quickly as he could.

You don't need to get any quotes from Pronger. Of course the 35+ rule is part of it.

I seriously just don't care at this point. But yeah, apparently I did, and I don't handle it well. Oh damn, my life's been ruined.

What 3 things have to go right for the Flyers to make the playoffs?

What 3 things have to go wrong for the Penguins to miss the playoffs?

1) I'm sure you'll take it in stride. I think. It was really all semantics, and I for one an anti-semantic. Are you really sure you lost? well, whatever.

2) everything

3) see 2.

Dehaan has been excellent, no complaints here
- Isles_since_6

Yeah we have no problems saying when a player actually plays well. Seems to be some confusion with AMAC and Flyers fans in reference to whether he was good or not when he was with us. He clearly sucked.
