By all accounts, not exactly a MENSA candidate, but he did play fairly well during his time here.

Any one have any idea of Adam McQuaid from Boston. Some fans seem anxious to move him .

It's going to have to be one (or two) of either Bartkowski, McQuaid or Boychuk (or Miller). With Hamilton and Krug now full time regulars, and Boychuk's continued improvement, the B's are fairly deep at the position. Mcquaid and Bartokowski bring a similar type of game and skill set so I would imagine it would be either one of them that is moved.

All three bring a tough/gritty game but Boychuk has come into his own with respect to the offensive side of things (apparently one of the hardest shots - besides Chara).

McQuaid and Bartkowski are both tough and also have a bit of offensive upside. However, there's just not much room when you have Chara, Seidenberg, Krug, Hamilton who already provide that element. And as touched on, Boychuck could easily be on the second defensive unit. So you basically have 3 guys fighting for the 6th and 7th defensive spots (McQuaid, Bartkowski, Miller)

It's certainly a possibility, given the relationship/connection you noted. I would love to have a guy like McQuaid or Bartkowski as part of our defensive corp.

I agree. It's going to be interesting how things end up, as the B's are going to be dealing with quiet a few UFAs (including Krejci) as well as a number of RFA's - Krug and Reily Smith being at the top of the list (followed by Hamilton next year). Things could get ugly.

Edit: I don't think they'll move Marchand - even strictly from just a financial perspective, he has a fairly friendly cap-hit $4.5 for the next 3 years. Plus, you can't just trade away a guy who is known as 'the little ball of hate'
