Important things to remember:

1) Trevor knows more than you
2)Benning knows more than you

The Canucks got Miller and Vrbata for no organizational assets

The kids need to earn spots. they haven't to date. If they aren't ready, Junior or AHL is best for their development.

cheers

As a long time member. I will agree with you on most but lets not come off arrogant here. Linden is an excellent hire but does he know more than us? time will tell. lots of people including myself belive he was brought in for PR regardless if its true, it imho has worked so far.

Not the most auspicious introduction we've ever seen, Don lol but welcome to the inanity nonetheless.

I think Vancity summed things up nicely, particularly with respect to essentially rebooting this franchise by hiring one of the all time Canuck greats. If this doesn't get the fan base excited then I don't know what will. The Linden signing seems to have given people a lot confidence and hope). So, yes, there is a significant promotional element to Linden's hiring.

As far as your player comments, I agree, in that no one should be rushed in if they are not 100% ready. Better to spend another year in J.R. or the AHL, then to impede the overall progress of your prospect by throwing him to the wolves.

Jake Virtanen is 17 for 12 more days and has an ELC. He could have an amazing season for the Hitmen.

All I want is to ensure Virtanen is 100% completely healthy as concerns his shoulder injury/rehab. Those types of injuries can become nagging and recurring unless the proper amount of time (and then some) and rehab ensures the shoulder has healed and is ready for contact.

Are you calling your self the Canucks crime boss? Or is your name Don?

Either way I'm kneeling before you and kissing your rings on your finger

I agree with everything you guys have said. I recognize that Linden is "green" but he knows hockey.

I remain optimistic with the direction of the team. Pretty good start to the new era of the Canucks. Most importantly, ownership has put control of the team with hockey people. I guess we will find out soon enough!

I agree, but still feel it's better to err on the side of caution - i.e. look what happened to the Nuge thus far (if I was a fan of the Oil I would be very concerned):

2013/10/07 Missed 2 games (left shoulder surgery).
2013/10/05 Left shoulder surgery, day-to-day.
2013/10/01 Left shoulder surgery, injured reserve.
2013/04/27 Missed the last 5 regular season games (shoulder injury).
2013/04/21 Shoulder injury, remainder of the regular season.
2013/03/25 Missed 2 games (illness).
2013/03/23 Illness, injured reserve.
2013/03/20 Illness, day-to-day.
2013/02/09 Missed 1 game (shoulder injury).
2013/02/06 Shoulder injury, day-to-day.
2012/02/25 Missed 7 games (sprained shoulder).
2012/02/21 Sprained shoulder, injured reserve.
2012/02/08 Sprained shoulder, day-to-day.
2012/02/04 Missed 13 games (upper body injury).
2012/01/03 Upper body injury, injured reserve.

That's basically almost 2 years of dealing with the same injury and no one knows yet what the end result will be.

No worries, Don. Arrogance builds character... no wait, ignorance is better than a bush in the hand. No no, arrogance brings us together? no wait....there is a very special place for the arrogant and that is working at Red Lobster? No wait...

Please note, being a new poster requires you to answer 29 skill testing questions (mostly with respect to the female anatomy and phallic origami) , at which point you will need to fight to the death the hockeybuzz monster known throughout the lands as Prock (who breathes fire n such, takes your school money, but mostly hurls insulting comments at you......).

In any case, stay tuned for the list of questions. But in the meantime, we expect several cases of 100 proof turnip juice (I jest, you'll have to ask Vintage what sort of libation is appropriate for this highly illustrious celebration).

Welcome aboard (n such)

Meh, last year was "big" changes heading into the season according to the GM. This year "change is coming, and it's already started". I hate change, it scares me
