I think it helps the wildcard. First off they play most of their games against the East and 2 of those teams lost their ace so that should translate into a better chance of winning a few more games against Tampa and Boston.

Second the Tigers and A's were expected to win their divisions. So them getting stronger hopefully translates into more wins for them against potential wild card teams from their divisions.

I see it as win win for the Jays until they actually have to play those teams in the playoffs
