PK will be traded sooner rather then later.

If he signs a 1 year deal, he's traded within one year. He'll lose value in his UFA season.

I wonder if both sides just have huge negotiating gonads, and are waiting to see how the hearing goes before adjusting their stand on the contract offers that have been made so far.

Takes two to tango. I think PK deserves a big pay raise, I want him to stay. But anything north of 8.5M per for 8 years is crazy. If he wants 9 or 9.5, beubye.

Not everything is black and white... there are shades of gray.

I'd like the habs to be able to sign him, I think he should be paid handsomely, but I also don't want that contract crippling the team...

I think I am more on the management side for this issue...but I don't want to see PK leave.

2years, 7.25per.

If he doesn't want to sign long term, hold on to him for 1.

If his value goes up, trade him next summer before the draft, if it goes down, he's (frank)ed himself.

MB is in the drivers seat on this one.

Not to worry.

Why?

If he's so great and sought after and doesn't want to be in MTL, MB has 2 years to move him for the best deal possible.

I'd say he's doing what's best for the future of the team, no?

Bergevin would have very little leverage in trade negotiations pete. if the Habs trade Subban, i promise you they're losing that trade.

Leafs fans would tell you that $500,000 is very important if you want to sign a bunch of 4th liners..
