If things are *that* bad, Subban would go through arbitration again next year and then just hold off until UFA I think.

Hence, "the only way I see him being here long-term"

Scott, they won two Cups, and were major contributors to those Cups. Isn't that the ultimate goal, as opposed to one Norris* Trophy?

One of those Stanley Cups were in a shortened season....

Deserves a * also

I find that hard to believe Kev1586. Your speeches are never that short.

RNH + Yak + 1st?
- Aetherial

That discussion starts at Hall+1st. If Edmonton is offering RNH, I'm looking elsewhere (but that's my opinion.)

If PK thinks he's worth as much as Toews and Kane, are we really gonna blame MB for not signing him?
- fidopro

I can only guess that he is thinking if he signs for *today's* upper end salary, then 3 years from now, he is paid below market value. Maybe he is just trying to build salary inflation into his contract.

Yeah, winning a cup and consistently finishing near the top of the conference is a truly unfortunate outcome.
- 3M

They won the cup BEFORE spending a lot on their 2 elite centers. since then, not much happening in West Pennsylvenia. Sure they're near the top. Hell, even Habs are!

Fine. I said the same thing but in a long-winded and wordy matter. Better?

Bergevin better have the mother of all presser's lined up for this poop. He's going to need writers from the UN handling his words.

Anything less than Hall (minimum) would be a no.

Exactly. Always, players signing new contracts were the best paid for a few years, and then not so much. See Crosby.
Looks like now they want to be the best paid now and for ever.

Howard while this is true. Chicago is and was a better team than the habs. You appear to give credit for to them solely as your negotiating tool and the reason to justify their new contracts.
I simply used your logic in pointing out the Norris trophy for PK.

Sure looks that way.

Not to sound overly dramatic, it is entirely possible that it is what he wants.

- Pecafan Fan

There was some talk on the Fan590 that maybe Montreal is thinking a trade may be better.

They might get a huge haul, including a bona fide #1 center in his prime. Maybe there are things about SUbban, including his salary demands, that they are not enamoured with.

The fact that they were two of the main reasons why that team won the Cup twice, is the reason to justify their contracts, yes. How is one to dispute that logic?

Yeah I don't thinkI would either. Maybe if Hall was a center.

I don't think I do Hall + 1st if I am Edmonton.

What about Eberle + 1st
