Maybe it's even simpler
Maybe PK just doesn't want to play here and he never planned on signing

- Gary_B.

Where would you speculate he'd want to play?

That's one philosophy. Another is to pay your 2 superstars superstar money when it comes time that they get the leverage for a superstar contract, and you worry about the rest of the team when you have to. IE. Chicago recently with Kane/Toews. They didn't Richard those two around. They deserved big re-ups and they got them without any drama.

So if PK loses arb we get 1st overall draft pick as part of award?

No I was referring to a trade at some point or another.

I'll say it again...

Cannot compare to Weber because he was signed under the previous CBA. So were Keith and Seabrook btw.

- fidopro

The question was if you could choose a number in the middle or choose one or the other. I'm not comparing he contracts I was comparing the actual case logistics.

He's done great since he's been here.

But if any of this results in PK not being a Hab long term, he's (frank)ed up royally. Even if, on the long shot, PK doesn't want to be here long term (which seems extremely unlikely), his job is to work to make it happen anyways.

If being a GM just meant signing players who want to play here more than anywhere else, and only giving them the least amount of money you can, and (frank) em if not, anyone could do it.

Was it cuz of the "MLB" reference?
- hscesq

I read it as MB and thought Marc B.

If it goes to the arbitrator ruling. The only way I see PK signing long term in Montreal, is if he gets offer sheeted next year, and the Habs match.

My bad. It's just that a lot of people don't understand the arbitration process. And I mean a lot...

Yes. I'm missing the point though. If the Habs had won the Cup the past 2 years they wouldn't have taken PK to arb now?
