Sounds like Bon Jovi and "Football Canada" can't/won't match Pegula's original bid, if it's true.

- buffalofan19

Not surprising. I always kind of laughed at the Jim Kelly team purchasing the team as well. Football players and musicians are millionaires, not billionaires.

Eh, everyone has there own thing. I am really getting into SEC football now living in GA. Its bigger than the NFL here.
- ImThatGuy

My 2 cents from MO--and I know we went back to hockey season, but if your run defense with some fantastic talent on the D-line is going to finish 28th in the league, you have some things to fix on the other side of the ball, regardless of who is taking snaps. Losing the Legend of KA hurts though.

What are they saying about Mizzou in the SEC East in GA? I am insulted we're picked for 4th. At least our QB took snaps last year, and played well. I'm thinking Mizzou could be a playoff team this year with the SEC West coming back to earth a bit. No Manziel, no McCarron, no Mettenburger. I'm trying to figure out how to bet on that long-distance, the odds have to be great in Vegas. Human voters like Condi Rice will love the Tigers and the Michael Sam effect, if they can stay in the race in the W column. I'm betting they surprise the naysayers, their schedule is very favorable.

very good for us

Now lets hope the Blues meet another first round exit.

- Herzeleid

I can see the blues missing the playoffs

some team is going to be in the top 8 that was not, preds?

the blues d did not impress me in the clutch and they are going with a rookie netminder

They could, but it seems like Bon Jovi isn't interested in anything but being the controlling owner and he definitely doesn't have the resources to mess with uncle Terry.

Well, I don't think Tanenbaum can be the controlling owner because of his involvement with MLSE, but Rogers could as far as I know.

Though, no matter what way you look at it, the rest of the owners would prefer Pegula anyway. They like single owners and aren't big on group ownerships.

I don't think that applies here. Toronto doesn't have an NFL team, so I think he would be okay. This is the same reason Robert Kraft (I think it was him) could have a stake in Manchester United.

Mizzou is not really mentioned... It's more Alabama, Auburn, Ole Miss, UGA for obvious reasons. UGA for will they find a replacement for Murray. Alabama because its Bama.

Also the Bachlorette is talked about quite a bit, since it was Aaron Murrays brother who won....

Pretty sure he could, since the he owns the team in Toronto, and Toronto doesn't have a NFL team. I thought it would be okay as long as there isn't another NFL team in a market that you own another sports franchise. Plus I am not sure if they consider the MLS a major sports league.

Bucky sure seems to have done a complete 180 from his stance on how Pegula and his people treated "poor Patty" a couple of months ago.

I bet in a lot of ways, Pegula hates how public much of this is. We didn't even know he existed here in Buffalo until a few days before he actually bought the Sabres. Nobody even knew that a sale was in the works. I would think he'd have liked this process to be much more like that one.

The difference is, and I'm sure he understands this, is that the NFL is a much bigger deal. When an NFL franchise goes up for sale publicly, unlike the way the Sabres did (remember, Golisano claims he wasn't looking to sell, and actually turned Pegula away the first time), everybody knows it.

I don't think he understands how easy profits are in NFL ownership....

Oh, I know. There's a huge difference. That doesn't mean that he wouldn't prefer it to be a lot more private than it has been.

Does anyone know the timeline of things from here though? I'd love to know who the trust picks prior to the season starting if possible.

Don't all teams based on TV deals automatically get $130MM?

The TV deals cover the players salaries for the year. Ticket sales/merchandise/concessions etc pay for the operating costs and then what's left is profit.
