It depends. If he seems to have good chemistry with one of the young guys, I keep him and get him to sign an extension prior to the deadline. If he won't, I trade him for some sort of asset, whether it's a draft pick or prospect. If there's a market for him, there's no point in just letting him walk.

Even if it's just another one year contract, I'm good with it. That allows them to put Zadorov in Rochester for a season after Jr to continue to develop.

Someone else obviously chose him because Nolan doesn't do anything.

This is a hockey message board, our team, the Sabres, just had one of the worst seasons in recent memory. Moves, potential moves are going to be analyzed, some will like, some will be cheerleaders (look in the mirror), some will like some moves, not hip on others. Some will have no clue but will play devils advocate. I have no idea how Bryan Trottier will do as an Assistant Coach but he has been out of coaching for 12 years so one can look at that. One can look at why it has taken a bit long to get Nolan's A. coaches signed up. I guess we can look at the worst team in the league coached by a guy who had a tough time getting an NHL job hiring a guy who hasn't coached in 12 years and look through your rose colored glasses and say yesssss!! Cup in two years!! Talk about how great things are and just put potential lines together in 2017 all day long and how Nolan will no doubt win another Jack Adams award because because he is just the best and all the team's in the league missed it but TP knew more than them.

I know people have to protect their sources, but they should realize that the rest if us are taking it with a grain of salt, so they should feel more confident in speaking freely.
