That game gave me a really strong hate for Rory Fitzpatrick.

well i turned it off before he completely screwed us.. but in the about 10 min of that game i watched it appeared like we should not have even been in that game. i think the puck was in the sabres possession for about 1:38 of the 10 min i watched

And to think that we had the lead going into the 3rd period.

I don't completely disagree with you, still too soon to know how he will turn out. I personally see him being more like a Ryan Callahan or Dustin Brown. Probably closer to Callahan's numbers
- Eclipsec20

IMO this is who he will be the most like.

Personally I also don't think he stays at center. I don't care what Ted Nolan or anyone says.

He will play the role of Brown, on a top 6 line making space for skilled players.

Nothing was worse than the game 7 against Philly a few years ago. I don't think we left our zone with the puck once.

That was bad, but the fact is they blew that series in Game 6. They had a 2 goal lead, choked it away, had the lead again, and then lost it again. Even Drew "contract year" Stafford had a chance to end it late in the 3rd period.

Ek has Leino possibly going to the islanders. This could be amazing if he plays like he has been.

I hadn't heard this before (RE: Bills sale):

"The Toronto group will inform the trust via Morgan Stanley that it intends to keep the team in Buffalo, rather than relocate it eventually to Toronto -- a decision the group made just last month. Few in Western New York or Southern Ontario believe the about-face."

Stafford averages 22 goals per 82 games played in his career. I don't know why scoring 25-30 is considered impossible. He has done it before. He will play on the top line. He will get PP time...

I will say, If Reinhart is not here this season, It will be very disappointing to me.

That is where most of my interest falls.

Yeah. I heard that too. Doesn't matter. I don't think they end up with it when all is said and done. According to the AP writer that broke the story last week, Pegula appears to be the current front runner.

I don't really have a preference. I want him wherever Murray decides he's going to get the most benefit.

If you read the original article about the "feasibility study" that surfaced about a week or so ago, it said that the stadium site search, and everything was done about 18 months ago. That was before the Bills signed their new lease, which makes it very difficult for the team to relocate. This isn't just simply an "about face". This is about the Toronto group realizing that it can't really move the team in the near future, even if it wanted to. Still, owning an NFL team is a lucrative investment opportunity provided you have the cash, and it makes sense that they would still pursue it.

Oh boy. Probably shouldn't start pitching rocks at that hornet's nest again. But I'll bite. He may not be ready and/or there may not be a spot available for him. I guess we'll have to wait and see!

I pulled that bit from an article in an Edmonton newspaper, which stated that the Pegulas still haven't officially announced if they'd even submit a bid. I think it's pretty "obvious" to us Buffalo sports fans that they will, but still interesting.

Apparently Golisano has gotten more committed to it, moreso than just as a lowball bid to keep the team in Buffalo.

He did it before on a team that was far more offensively competent than the one is now. This team will still struggle to score goals, Stafford included.

True, but he scored 16 goals in 70 games on the most feeble scoring team in the NHL. Nowhere to go but up??

He started a new sports management group, and moved a bunch of Sabres employees under its payroll. Many speculate that signals a material interest in buying the team, and I have no reason to think otherwise. Pegula has always done things under the vest though. Remember, his bid to buy the Sabres came out of nowhere.

Technically, none of the 10 groups that are involved in the bidding process are even supposed to talk about what's going on. They all signed non-disclosure contracts. Today is actually a big day for all of this, because the people that want to place a bid, have to submit a letter of indication and a non-formal bid to Morgan Stanley.

I don't think the NDA is to not talk about your interest and that you're going to bid, but more because they're allowed to see the books now.

and 19 - I saw that article on Pegula's new business and the renting at the "M&T" tower. I'm not naive to think he's not bidding, just find it funny that AP is calling them the frontrunner when they've not said anything publicly.

Other than the fact that nobody (including me) really likes Bon Jovi as a musician, I don't feel threatened by the Toronto Group, understanding what I do now about the lease. Of course, I would rather have Pegula end up winning this thing, but if the Toronto group wins, and it does keep the team in Buffalo (which is likely), it might be able to do what Russ Brandon wasn't able to do: get the Toronto companies to advertise and buy luxury boxes down here. The Bills could use that revenue, and may very well need it if a new stadium becomes required. The NFL is all about big business, and that big business does not exist in Western New York.
