Bergeron isn't a true #1? He's a pretty damn good player. Every team has a lot if good players and that's the truth. For obvious reasons you want your best player and captain or leader to be your #1 centre. But it doesn't mean you can't win without that model. If Kadri turns into a 75pt 2nd line center (max potential) that would be among the leagues best so it'll all balance out.

He said "elite # 1's". Personally, I think Bergeron may be the most underrated player in the game and I'd call him a top 10 centre in the game. He's so good at both ends and sacrifices points to play/win with Julien.

All that said - Bozak isn't close to Bergeron.
