very odd..........not that your guy doesn't know......but that it seems no one does...Not a good sign....starting to worry that good coaches don't want to work for teddy or terry or some combination

If what Homer is saying it's true, it doesn't seem that many candidates are thrilled with getting head coach type responsibilities for assistant coach type pay.

i guess i can't blame them, no one likes to do their bosses job while they get all the credit.........but Nolan was able to get assistant coaches in his other stops......Something is really off here

Two things- 1. If teddy knows he is in the position as a placeholder, or to be fired once the kids have developed, could this be why it took so long for him to sign his contract? If it was me, if want big bucks if I was to be fired, potentially during a cup run.

2. Surely there have to be a few asst. coach candidates out there who are champing at the bit for a chance, or a pay cheque. You would think that they would have a strong argument for taking Teddy's job when it all goes down.

At this point if he and the assistants can get them acting like professionals with a clear cut direction I think it's a good start. I don't need Mike Babcock or Ken Hitchcock right now. I think Nolan makes it through 2 years and is replaced

This is all BS.

It's a month after the draft. 3 weeks after free agency. 6 weeks after the season ended, and that goes for other leagues, too, where Teddy might have had guys on his target list, still in the playoffs perhaps.

Not to mention Nolan was over at the world championships.

Murray said Nolan's been interviewing, and that sh!t takes time. 2nd interviews, etc. Now he's talking contract.

The conspiracy theorists on this site...

This is an N. H. L. COACHING JOB for a well respected - despite the record - franchise with outstanding owners, the top farm system around, top facilities, all the fixins!

Stop, just stop with the "no one wants to work here" crap.

It's not true.

When they announce the assistants, I think we'll be very happy with who they got.

Rationalization helps, so does drinking...I heard some juicy stuff about Nolan's previous stay here by someone very close to Muckler. It backs up the slacker mentalitity.

And that's fine, taken with a grain of salt.

It was also almost 20 years ago. Nolan is a different coach, person, etc. He's learned alot, I'm sure, on all fronts.

Your right some guys should be desperate to get this Gig, there are after all very few of these jobs at the highest level....that's why i find it strange that it is taking so long. i'm not trying to make a federal case out of what may be nothing at all....i just find it curious that Nolan couldn't get any coaches in time for Development camp, and still hasn't....not to mention we really haven't heard any leaks as to who he has interviewed or interested in...and can only speculate.

Ya, I get it... But Adam? Who cares?
Top story is the Brassard signing
Right under it is a story about Subban's contract negotiations, and the Adam signing

Not tough to see which one of these doesn't belong

agreed, goosie...reminds me of mark mancari...

just an fyi, mancari made $300K playing in the ahl last season

- Michael Pachla

I went to college with a girl who knew a lot of guys on the 07-08 Amerks, including Mancari. She said he was a total douche. Thought he was better than everyone else. Karma's such a female dog.

Also. It's a shame so much skill goes to waste in a guy like Adam. He's just too damn slow. I never read his scouting report, and even though he looked a little slow I never realized his major downfall was actually his skating. Hopefully Murray stays away from players like this.

Gets annoying, doesn't it.

The organization took the time to hire the RIGHT guy in Murray when some were saying that Patty wanted to take over as GM.

Now, more bullpoop about how Teddy is some placeholder and no one wants to work here. (frank)ing spare me. They'll hire the right guys and take their time doing it, just like they did with Murray. Chill.

-I bet there are plenty of applicants and only a few spots to be taken. Let's say you open a business. An investment firm. You've got 45 guys applying for 5 spots. You're not losing any money by not making a quick hire because you're not even open yet. Are you going to hire the RIGHT guys and be sure about your selections, or just hire the first 5 schmoes that apply?

-Development camp? We had the right guys running development camp. They were prospects and Chadd Cassidy and his boys run the development team, the Amerks. It made every bit of sense for him to run camp instead of Nolan. I'm willing to bet he'll run camp next year as well. Nothing to see here.....

-Leaks, no leaks, who cares. You KNOW they're interviewing. Nolan mentioned I think like a week or two ago that they were close to making some hires. There's absolutely no reason to theorize or worry here. I think we're just that bored.

So I read a few posts from the regular posters here.
Boggles my mind why people want to run a coach off already before he has even had legitimate shot of turning this team around.
The guy has done nothing but win most places and opportunities he has been given and yet people want him gone already?
If he gets this team "motivated" and turns this ship around and has great chemistry with his players, the last thing I would want is another coach coming in here screwing that all up.
I find it very hard to believe that he does nothing when it comes to x's and o's when it comes to coaching.
I genuinely feel that some have some type of agenda with this man.
Me?
I hope Teddy kicks ass!

End of August

**Thinking of either Habs/GoLeafsGo avatar (not one bashing either team though), until the end of summer (end of August), deadline some time tonight or 12.00PM tomorrow.
