What I don't get is people automatically saying the Leafs didn't address anything when they're basically changing the entire bottom six and a good chunk of the D. If you're saying right off the bat they're not any better, my question is did you watch the the Leafs last year? Did you really love that fourth line so much that anything else is worse?
I don't think Leaf fans are saying it's great. We talking about getting that poop all the way back up to average. If the Leafs got their PK and SA up to average, they're in the hunt for the playoffs. - Zezel
Those people are just out to annoy the leaf fans. |

You answered your own question
Leafs fans have lofty goals as they should -
You are stating that they should get back to average?
Who wants to be average?
2 out of 6 dmen have been changed with robidas and polak
Leafs fans don't want average - they want a great team - the only way you get great is to address the top 6 or top 2 dmen
Does this take time ? Perhaps? But in a me now society - average is not the answer |

Old Mill is my nothing beer.
Still, much better than PBR - lumlums
Watching PBR fly off the shelves and take up taps in Toronto, just makes me feel sorry for the people that are buying it. People paying 9 bucks a pint for PBR. Pabst must feel like they won the (frank)ing lottery. Somehow this garbage beer became cool. |

What a lemon comment. Until they prove it on the ice, none of these teams have improved any more than the Leafs have. - systemtool
Which is exactly what he said about the leafs but somehow doesn't hold true for other teams. |

I have no idea how.
If I'm paying $9 a pint it better be some beautiful imported 8-10% Belgian goodness |

This season they should. They should be wanting to move their PK and SA numbers from the bottom to the middle. That's a signficant jump to make.
Of course they want to go beyond that, and you're right they need to get better. I assume that's what they're trying to do. |

I think that the point he was trying to make is that we have good offensive numbers, and if we even had an 'average" defense, we'd likely be in the hunt for the playoffs all the time. Obviously you want to be as good as you can, and that starts byu addressing the -8/game shot differential... |

Pretty much...it's crazy. It's pretty great for bars, you have all these hipster who are actually willing to give you ten bucks for a pint of Labbatt 50. Now I know we all love Labbatt 50 but c'mon people...fifty would be so cheap to buy. I wish I was in the business of selling booze to hipsters, it's such a (frank)ing idiot tax

Okay, I know it was a solid post to get your troll on in your usual "who me?" shirt and just brushing it off as talking hockey but.....he didnt say he wanted the team to be average, but if they could improve some stats that we at the lower end of the scale then team would have a fighting chance at contending for a playoff spot and perhaps a little more. |

Almost every team and fanbase has hope of improvent and optimism, but we're just sitting here rubbing each others nutsackials over personal hope and speculation. So yea, Mr IGGYSBFF, we get what you're trying to say. You hope the Leafs fail. - systemtool

Cool pic broski. Changes nothing though. Troll hard. Its all good though, I can see why it hurts to be one of the few teams actually more disfunctional than Leafs. Dont go all "Eakins" on me though. |

Yes. The Leafs potentially have some big strengths in speed, skill, goaltending. Any improvement in D, PK would be a step forward.
There's little things too, like getting a few more right handed D actually does change a lot. There's some straight out technical things the Leafs need to switch up and it sounds like they're doing that. |

The outcry is understandable - an impact move was not made this year either via fa or through trade - perhaps gunshy from last years fa signing
A guy to play with dion is crucial - the facelift of the 2nd line was not completed but perhaps here they are banking on clarkson -
Lupul is that 1 trade chip to get a strong dman for dion
On the other hand we are not privy to any power struggle which may be in the management ranks |

You're the one getting butthurt. I said its not worth it to argue over it because neither side can be proven right or wrong until the season. After all you are the one that told me you loved your team last September and the only thing that mattered was wins....didnt work out so well... |
