We'll see how this season goes with him.

You are not going to see Lemieux up here for at least 3 years anyways

Pretty much the deal with last years picks not named Reinhart.

And there could still be a year until we see him regularly. If he plays bigger into his body, it will help him immensely. I wish he would train with Zemgus, though that may be too intense for many

Hopefully the whole season out of the big team will have helped erase the stigma and he has the reigns on with Gionta, Gorges, Nolan, etc.

Pretty much new team , new leaders and new coach and GM from last time he skated on the Sabres.

"The Buffalo Sabres are the envy of the National Hockey League"

lol, What teams are drooling over the sabres prospect scoring forwards? They don't have any. The Amerks have zero scorers ready to come up to the NHL, Armia and the other guys can't even score at the AHL level, Luke Adam is not a prospect. Reinhart is the only guy who has HIGH end talent. People get excited that buffalo drafts a guy and he makes the team and scores 5-10 goals, how boring.

Detroit has some talented forward prospects that make Amerks forwards look like East Coast Roller Hockey players.

Armia is the only guy I have hope for but he is lacking in heart and must prove this year he can score at AHL level. The object of the game of hockey is to score more goals than the other team, you need high end talent and a full team including 3rd line and defense that can help with scoring.

Every single year everyone say this guy is a future captain and blah blah blah...How is Shawn Anderson working out? Did Phil Boucher become the next Al MacGinnis? When a guy can score really well at AHL level then I can have hope.

Dan Catenacci is a midget and plays very small, goes no where near the net. Kevin Sundher has had 3 concussions and can't score at AHL level, these were two guys people were so excited about...

Blah blah blah.

You know, there are other teams that need fans. That's what I tell my father when all he does is whine and cry about the team, which he does any time he opens his mouth about them.

Wait.......

That's definitely true. He could have the reigns on much tighter than he is used to, which is probably for the best. Nolan probably loves the game he plays, if he can keep himself on the right side of the calls.

I'll just say it

I'm really digging photo #2 and #5 (though I never got the chance to see Claude Lemieux play)

- Sabresfan-365

I remember one night Rob Ray tossed Lemieux around and he turtled from the pounding Ray gave him. Claude Lemieux wasn't an every day reg season player but shined in the playoffs.

I don't disagree with his points but if your going to make posts like that you should avoid belittling fans and actually engage in conversation. Edit: belittle may not be the right word but I hope you get what I meant

I think it is an alter ego of a regular.

Don't care if he ever plays with the Sabres again. Cody McCormick can do everything Kaleta does, and play clean.

That may be true, but with having a rotation of both could lead to very successful PK situation.

I hope that's sarcasm.

There comes a point where, if you can't recognize anything that the team has done as being positive and all you see is negative, it stops being a demand for greatness and starts becoming a bitter whine fest. And once it's reached that point, and it starts causing hypertension - as it seemingly has in Squirrel's case - it's time for you to find another team to watch, so as to guard against possible stroke or heart attack.

I agree but disagree.

I think that the Sabres are without a doubt building something special, but in the same breath it's sort of a loser mentality to be satisfied with a 30th place team. If the Sabres had previously won a cup within the last few decades (or ever) then I'm not so sure so many of us would be so content with this current direction (I am so I'm not saying it's wrong) I think most would want/expect better

Who's satisfied?

None of us are.

But to come in here and say NOTHING positive, ever?

I could list 25 positive things about that franchise.

Like I said, at that point it becomes incessant whining and complaining and crying. It gets old and it's childish.

The fans (at least on here) seem split to opposite ends of the extreme. I will use Girgensons as the example here. I agree the hype for Girgensons can get out of hand and his value is being greatly exaggerated because of his toughness. But at the same time, going to the other extreme and trying to label him as a nobody is wrong as well.

He's a vital part of the future core, but I'd have no trouble trading him for an upgrade. Intangibles only take you so far after all.

Maybe content is a better word than satisfied, but I'm including myself in that group. Rooting for losses is something fans that have never seen a championship do (I'm one of them)

IMO if we had experienced a cup before, we would expect better

We DO expect better. But we're realistic to know that the kind of "better" you are talking about - and we all expect - can't happen overnight.

So we're pleased - but not satisfied or content - to see that the process that's required to get the team to "better" is finally underway and gaining traction.
