This is America, you are more than welcome to become a Red Wings fan. That simple. Boom, done. bye.

I always pictured him as a Bruins fan who trolls the Sabres site.

Maybe because on the Bills message board there is a poster who goes by Squirrel (no Mr.) that openly admits he is a Bruins fan.

"The Buffalo Sabres are the envy of the National Hockey League"

lol, What teams are drooling over the sabres prospect scoring forwards? They don't have any. The Amerks have zero scorers ready to come up to the NHL, Armia and the other guys can't even score at the AHL level, Luke Adam is not a prospect. Reinhart is the only guy who has HIGH end talent. People get excited that buffalo drafts a guy and he makes the team and scores 5-10 goals, how boring.

Detroit has some talented forward prospects that make Amerks forwards look like East Coast Roller Hockey players.

Armia is the only guy I have hope for but he is lacking in heart and must prove this year he can score at AHL level. The object of the game of hockey is to score more goals than the other team, you need high end talent and a full team including 3rd line and defense that can help with scoring.

Every single year everyone say this guy is a future captain and blah blah blah...How is Shawn Anderson working out? Did Phil Boucher become the next Al MacGinnis? When a guy can score really well at AHL level then I can have hope.

Dan Catenacci is a midget and plays very small, goes no where near the net. Kevin Sundher has had 3 concussions and can't score at AHL level, these were two guys people were so excited about...

- MrSquirrel

can't argue your point that a second rounder (adam) and two third rounders (catenacci and sundher) aren't turning into goal scorers nor will I question your grasp of mid-80's/90's buffalo sabres hockey...

but that section wasn't about that...here's the entire quote:

"The Buffalo Sabres are the envy of the National Hockey League when it comes to the sheer number of prospects that they've either recently drafted or will draft next season."

That, and on Catenacci ....I see him getting some games this year. He looked really good in the scrimmage.

he's really fast...faster than what he showed at the scrimmage...and he's still developing...will he pan out?...*shrugs*...it's tough enough for a first rounder much less a third rounder

squirrely helps keep everything in check...sure, he's a little abrasive, but he does have a pretty good grasp of the game and of sabres history

I'd say he has a good grasp on about 41% of the game. He's like the Zemgus Girgensons of HockeyBuzz..... I kid

To be fair, and I point this out because I do what he does often, we don't bring up the great things other teams/cities do (when we talk about economics and the like) because we want to be fans of their teams/move to their cities. It's because we want Buffalo to be great like they are.

Bam. That's probably it. He essentially mocks Sabres fans for having faith in the Sabres. He's mocking our prospect depth by talking about Canteacci? Seriously? He's like our 13th best forward prospect.

Alright folks, stop talking about the posters and talk about the posts themselves. If you don't agree with what someone says, ignore it or talk about it, but stop ripping the person who posted it, no matter how subtly you try to get a knock in.

i admit that i love when the squirrel comes in with long rants because they are very comical to me but sometimes he brings up some pretty rational points and because his post have become such a running joke they are often overlooked. Its the simple fact that hes always on one side of the spectrum

I think the problem is that we don't take too kindly to trolling efforts.

I disagree with the post on several accounts and the ideas in the post are extremely skewed.

-comical, yet all peripheral vision (I'm sticking with his posts and not the poster) is completely withdrawn and vacant.

The posts, and I'll comment on this one itself, focuses on the negative along with the opinions (often incorrect when cross checking with actual facts) are simply finding any negative from a positive situation and throwing it into the spotlight. It's bothersome, but (and I'm going to flip to the other side of the coin here and be fair) they exhibit negatives that can be discussed rationally.

Armia? Guy started injured and PROGRESSED throughout the season and had a fantastic post season.
Catenacci? Third round pick played his rookie season, fast, short, PHSYICAL, willing to go to the tough areas. He's a mid round pick, he deserves more development time.
Grigorenko? His two way game and effort has improved. Give the kid some time.
Adam? Yeah, ok, he's not a prospect and no one has claimed such. Maybe he's a late bloomer but at this juncture he appears to be an AHL talent. The kid is still young and has a year or two to turn it around.
Girgensons? I'll mention that the "only scored 22 points" in his rookie season and "barely did anything" in his rookie seasons in Rochester AND Buffalo, two years successive years in a row, the kid will grow and you'd have to be blind to look at a guy like that and simply demand points out of him immediately.

"Detroit has some talented forward prospects that make Amerks forwards look like East Coast Roller Hockey players."

...no.

I'll stop here.

I think the point to keep in mind is that players develop every day. They are not going to be a generational talent every step of the way. They have to grow and adapt. Do we know if they will all hit their potential, no. Can we hope they will, yes. That's what we do here. At least that's my take. Take the moments of positive over the moments of negative. The future has a great potential to be bright. This team finally has a direction and understanding of how to be a better team moving forward.

Good take. I know we don't have a lot of top end talent, but I know we have a ton of potential NHL talent. And right now, that's a great projection for us.
