The scary thing about bridge deals is that you can pay him for what he has done as of now (Maybe 3.5 mil) but if he progresses to a top 10 OD, he will not take any sort of a discount. I kinda like the route the oilers took with with Hall/Ebs/Nuge over the Habs strategy with PK. They save cash for two years instead of 8, IMO. - Jeropotato
Agree- but Jultz is not as easy to predict as the other 3 (HEN) in my opinion... If he regresses or gets passed by Nurse and Klefbom next year then what- Marincin already has proven this very example... I get your point- just as with everything with dmen they r so hard to predict... |

I initially said 4 years, 15 million and gave the breakdown.
Then saskoil griped about him not being worth 4 and 5 million dollars, and I pointed out that the cap hit would be a reasonable 3.75.
It's not conventional, but it could be enticing for both sides. - Morris
I always gripe |

I dont drink too much beer as I like my maple finished Crown - then grey goose and/or bombay primarily but when I do delve into beer its:
1) Miller Chill
2) Corona
3) MGD
4) Bud Light Lime
5) Coors light
6) Richards a) Red b)Blonde c)white
7) Alexander Keiths- original
8) Molson Canadian
9) Kokanee
10) Budweiser - saskoil21
I would classify very few of these as beer |

I see two factors.
If he pay him somewhere in the 4 million range longterm, he'll be overpaid for the first couple years, but we may end up making it up on the back end. Even if we don't though, if a GM balks at the idea of a 5-year contract with a 4 million cap hit because he'll be overpaid by 1.5m over the first two years, then they're just deaf to the way business works today in the NHL. Teams are lucky if they sign longterm deals that are at no point in the deal an overpay. Many of them are overpays each and every year, and the impact of that is pretty overrated.
The other thing is that with the way the cap is rising, a 4 million contract is probably never going to be an anchor over the next 5 years. Even if Schultz tops out at 35 points and mediocre defensively, t here will always be a basement team to clean up your mess.
If you have a chance to lock a guy like Schultz down at such a deal, I think you take it. |

I'm a fussy beer drinker though. Like different ones, but my top 10 are
1.Guiness
2.Carlsberg
3.Steamwhistle
4.Boddingtons
5.Keiths White
6. Kilkenny
7.Ricards White
8.keiths green label
9.big Rock Traditional Ale
10.Kokanee- total poop but sometimes you end up somewhere with poop for selection. - Jeropotato
If you make it to Victoria or anywhere on the island, you have to try Hoyne dark matter. Imo the best beer to come from b.c. It is amazing, dark taste but drinks light.

You are likely right- I just always selected spirits in my itinery thus stuck to the more common beers... the dark ale- like guiness I found too thick for my liking... which is why I simply stuck to the pilsner types and now lime flavors... - saskoil21
Oh, Ale is an acquired taste, that's for sure, but once you get into it it's pretty awesome. The "heavy or Thick" perception is absolutely false. It's actually not all that filling and crazilly refreshing.
I recommend if you really want to "learn" about quality beer that you should dedicate 4 nights to beer drinking, with a minimum of 12 different beers.
1.Traditional Ales or Cream Ales x3
2.Wheat Ales x3
3.Lager's x3
4.Pilsners x3
Avoid anything you have seen on a commercial and you have entered a new and wonderful world.

100%. 5 years at 21-22 Million I would do.

Marincin is a great dman and to a certain extent it's apples and oranges. But just as Marincin was a much better possession player than Schultz, Schultz does many things that Marincin may never do.
You're talking about a guy who had a prorated season of 11 points vs a guy was 38th in Dman scoring this year and 12th last year. |

Kilkenny, Boddingtons....100%. More of a traditional Irish Ale fan myself (Guiness, Big Rock Traditional, Harp, etc...
Do NOT try Scotch Ale . Some sick bastard decided to invent that stuff and it's horrible. |

Anyone remember what happened when Chicago signed Brian Campbell to that absurdly long and expensive contract? He played great, they won a cup, traded him off, felt no ill effects and won another cup.
And the Panthers? They don't regret acquiring him either.
Schultz is a considerably lesser player, but we're talking about a considerably lesser price than 7.1 (esp adjusting for inflation).
Get him to sign on the dotted line for under 4.5 and over 5 years? I really don't see it backfiring. |

My only concern cap space right now. Like to have a few bucks for another center and just in case (I know, I know,) we are buyers at the TDL. |

Even 5 might be the way to go. If he turns out to have a good couple of seasons he will bleed us dry in 2 years. |

I'm a big rum guy. Especially spiced rum. Captain Morgan, Havana Club, Agostura, Sailor Jerry.
So my beer is more of the "blah" side from the looks of it:
1) Keith's Light
2) PBR
3) Mill Street Organic
4) Bud Light
5) Sleeman clear

That's what I tend to do. I don't usually have beer to just "enjoy" the way you have been listening with a bunch of the others. I feel like a loser since I'm not a fan of all the "craft" beers that everyone is gushing over. It just sits too heavy for my liking. Hence the piss beers because they go down really fast |
