None of those statements you provided are facts. They are all people's OPINIONS on him.

Facts are things like stats.

- HonkFortheGoose

Facts are things that are true. Murray and his coach both said what they thought of Reinhart that is factually true. That was my point pal.

Careful with that though. Facts like Ennis is a 20 goal scorer is correct but facts like his plus minus is bad is correct but if you look at the team around him its not a fair stat to base your argument over that.

Stats don't tell the whole story

I remember that quote by murray...but he did qualify it by saying if they feel he's he's not ready for the nhl he'll go back to junior
- Michael Pachla

Yes this is true as well. Just from what I'm hearing not on personal opinion at all is why I think he stays here. I respect your opinion on if he should be here I just see it leaning towards him staying based on the statements those important to where he ends up have been saying.

They are not facts. They are opinions. Did they say them? Yes. They did. But it's still not a fact.

I'm with you that I think he'll be in Buffalo for the year though. I think that since this season isn't going to be the best anyway, you might as well have him here learning at the pro level and working with the strength and conditioning team here. Use it as a transition year essentially. Give him some protected minutes and ease him into everything.

Stats are facts. How you choose to interpret the stats is opinion.

There. I said it.

I hear ya...and i'll always defer...I (we) speculate from a distance and my (our) opinions mean nothing to those within the organization

I don't take myself that seriously...

that being said, there's the summer, training camp, traverse city and pre season...reinhart has always addressed his shortcomings...no reason to think he won't in this case

I agree when it makes sense!

I can be swayed to change my opinion as well if the discussion and the points brought up make sense.

Michael.. I know your the blogger here but I respectfully disagree just on pure facts alone.

His coach doesn't expect him back at all.. Murray said he doesn't think Reinhart has anything else to learn in Juniors.. heck every TSN guy under the sun said it as well. Reinhart is staying with the big club baring an epic collapse between now and game 9 of the tryout.. Now you can have your opinion if you don't want him here. That's fine and I can see the argument but stating you don't think he will imo is factually wrong.

- bluengold12

Sorry to nitpick, but someone saying "I don't think he will" can never be wrong.

Someone mentioned yesterday that we're not participating in the Traverse City Tournament this year.

Care to see if you can dig anything up about it? I'm not sure who it was that said it yesterday.

Mentally ready is not physically ready . If the kids body cannot take the pounding that is dished out in the NHL why do you keep him here . To get a career ending injury . He had to take a maintenance day after the scrimmage . He is get pounded a lot worse than that.

I said it yesterday. When us refs work development camp we are told when we are needed next and from what I got from my friends back home they are going to be needed for rookie camp and the team isn't going to traverse city

Another year in Junior won't really provide him that ability either though. If he's gone through 3 years already, I don't think a 4th will give him what you're saying he needs. Sure, he may get stronger/tougher, but in 3 years if he hasn't already been facing those hits, I don't think one more will matter for THAT aspect.

I'm not saying another year of Juniors is bad overall

Wish that damn transfer rule was not there. He is fast enough , smart enough for sure . Wish he could spend a little time in the AHL and get called up on ocassion. But the pounding scares me . If he has having to take a maintenance day today after just a scrimmage . It worries me a bit.

There's talk of the CHL players unionizing. If that happens, I would imagine the NHL would use that as an excuse to pull the transfer agreement. It wouldn't solve the problem for Reinhart, but it might for future players.

I think it will truly depend on how he comes back from his workouts. I don't think the hits he would encounter in Junior will be the same as the ones he would get in the AHL or NHL, but as he cannot go to the AHL he may have a spaced out 9 game tryout to try and see how he reacts.

This is all speculation. He took 1 hit from Girgensons. I'd hardly say that's enough evidence to say he's not physically ready.

Ryan Nugent Hopkins played (and Produced) with an even smaller frame than Reinhart, as long as he can learn to properly absorb a hit he will be fine
